Episode 9 recap: Huang Zhen Hua and Su Geng Sheng argued.
Huang Yi Mei was distracted and disinterested due to emotional issues, and also had trouble sleeping at night. Meanwhile, her colleague Zhuang Guo Dong was also having a hard time after a breakup, and was using exercise to vent his emotions. Huang Yi Mei had dinner with Zhuang's father, who tried to console her with a story about clearing a tower, but Huang Yi Mei couldn't let go of the relationship. As someone who had been pampered and adored since childhood, she didn't want to admit defeat.
Huang Zhen Hua also met up with Zhuang Guo Dong to play basketball and encourage the two to reconcile, explaining that Huang Yi Mei's destructive behavior was due to her having a split personality. But the still-upset Zhuang Guo Dong didn't listen and instead accused Huang Zhen Hua of also going through a breakup.
Huang Zhen Hua and Zhuang Guo Dong's basketball game led to Huang Zhen Hua injuring his waist, prompting him to decide to start working out. He ordered some weights online, only to have issues with the seller Su Geng Sheng. The two got into an argument, and when the weights spilled out, one of them ended up badly injuring Huang Zhen Hua's foot.
Su Geng Sheng took Huang Zhen Hua to the hospital, where it was determined the injury was not serious. Huang Zhen Hua apologized to Su Geng Sheng for the incident, but Su Geng Sheng felt he had done his duty and no longer had any responsibility. When Huang Zhen Hua complained about Su Geng Sheng's behavior, Huang Yi Mei wasn't in the mood to listen.
Huang Zhen Hua then asked about Huang Yi Mei and Zhuang Guo Dong's breakup, mentioning he could introduce a nice girl at work to Zhuang Guo Dong if they were truly broken up. This angered Huang Yi Mei, who started throwing things at Huang Zhen Hua. Huang Zhen Hua calmed her down, saying Zhuang Guo Dong seemed like a good, focused man. He then asked Huang Yi Mei to send him Su Geng Sheng's contact information.
Zhuang Guo Dong went downstairs to find Huang Yi Mei, and tightly embraced her. In a fit of anger, Huang Yi Mei bit down hard on Zhuang Guo Dong's shoulder. Zhuang Guo Dong then forcefully kissed her, and the two reconciled and made up.
Huang Zhen Hua limped home, claiming he had bought salted eggs while traveling, when in fact his father Huang knew that Bai Xiao He had been working long hours in the lab, putting too much pressure on Huang Zhen Hua. When Huang Zhen Hua admitted the truth about his breakup, his father said he hadn't taken it too hard.
Huang Yi Mei had stained Zhuang Guo Dong's walls with red wine, which wouldn't come off, so she painted roses as an apology. Zhuang Guo Dong self-reflected, and Huang Yi Mei apologized for her impulsive behavior.
Huang Zhen Hua had added Su Geng Sheng on QQ, but the request was repeatedly rejected until finally accepted - only for Su Geng Sheng to immediately block him. Angry, Huang Zhen Hua called to confront Su Geng Sheng, saying he needed to come see him again at the hospital.
Zhuang Guo Dong was being pressured by his mother to take a job in Paris, and was criticized for prioritizing his small love affair over his career development. Zhuang Guo Dong hung up on her, unhappy with the scolding.
Su Geng Sheng came to visit the injured Huang Zhen Hua, and the two got into another argument. Failing to win the argument, Huang Zhen Hua left a negative review of Su Geng Sheng's products online. Soon after, Su Geng Sheng came to confront Huang Zhen Hua, suspecting he was actually interested in him and intentionally trying to interact with him.
