Episode 2 recap: Huang Yi Mei persuades the naive man to quit.
Huang Yi Mei received a call from her workplace informing her that she had been interviewed and selected as the executive assistant's assistant, which delighted her. However, Huang's mother, Huang Ma Ma, believed that Huang Yi Mei was spoiled and would not be able to handle the demands of serving others, and might even have difficulty getting her position confirmed. Huang Yi Mei, being strong-willed, made a bet with her mother - if she could endure the first three months, her mother would buy her a bag, but if she couldn't, she would have to follow her mother's arrangement to take the postgraduate entrance exam, with her mother even choosing the major.
When Huang Yi Mei reported to the company, she imagined being surrounded by her colleagues and treated like a star. But the reality was quite different. Her supervisor, Su Geng Sheng, reminded her that her beauty might be a bargaining chip, but could also make her a target. He then briefed her on CEO Tina's habits and arrangements, emphasizing that she must remember them well, or risk being scolded by Tina.
Huang Zhen Hua chatted with the girl he was introduced to, Bai Xiao He, who turned out to be a Ph.D. holder. Huang Zhen Hua sent her messages every day to greet her, but she replied sparingly, and he struggled to find the right way to communicate further with her.
As Huang Yi Mei was preparing to deliver documents to CEO Tina, she witnessed Tina scolding a colleague for wearing yellow, as Tina disliked the color that day. When Tina summoned Huang Yi Mei, needing to eat something due to low blood sugar, Huang Yi Mei quickly replaced the yellow corn in her lunchbox with a yellow apple.
Later, Huang Yi Mei inquired with Su Geng Sheng about Mr. Teng, whose schedule was difficult to coordinate, as he had a calligraphy piece that Tina greatly desired. Curious about this, Su Geng Sheng explained that each employee had their own level of tasks to attend to.
Huang Yi Mei then devised a plan to sneak into the gala event without an invitation, first by befriending the security guard, and later by disguising herself as a staff member to gain access. At the event, she mistook Zhuang Guo Dong for Mr. Teng and discussed Chinese and French art collections with him, only realizing her mistake when someone called out Zhuang Guo Dong's name.
As it happened, Zhuang Guo Dong was acquainted with Mr. Teng, and he introduced Huang Yi Mei to Teng. This allowed Huang Yi Mei to help Tina secure a 30-minute meeting opportunity with Teng.
Although Tina did not reach a deal with Teng, the meeting allowed Teng to understand Tina's company's capabilities, laying the groundwork for future collaboration. Teng was in a rush to catch a flight, so the two parties exchanged contact details. When Zhuang Guo Dong saw someone approaching Huang Yi Mei, he proactively intervened to help her, and learned that Tina's company was hosting a Sino-French exchange event, which he was eager to participate in. Huang Yi Mei thanked Zhuang Guo Dong for his help, but was quickly called away by Tina.
Seeing that Tina was unwell, Huang Yi Mei decided to take her to the hospital for treatment. Despite Tina's insistence that a glass of water would suffice, Huang Yi Mei disregarded her and took her to the hospital nonetheless. Examination revealed that Tina had a stomach ulcer, and Huang Yi Mei's timely action likely prevented a more serious situation.
Huang Yi Mei used the money on her to pay for Tina's hospital fees, leaving her without funds to return home. She then contacted Huang Zhen Hua to come pick her up. In the car, Huang Yi Mei learned that Huang Zhen Hua had been unable to arrange a meeting with the PhD student, Bai Xiao He, so she immediately took his phone to help.
Sure enough, shortly after, Bai Xiao He agreed to meet up. At the hospital cafeteria, Huang Zhen Hua was concerned about getting oil stains on Bai Xiao He's bag, but she believed that possessions are meant to be used, not constrained by.
