Episode 20 recap: Huang Yi Mei is processing old emotions.
Zhuang Guo Dong went to the newspaper office to find Huang Yi Mei, but Huang Yi Mei did not want to get entangled with him and did not even have lunch during her break. In the evening, when Huang Yi Mei saw that Zhuang Guo Dong was not downstairs, she packed up and left, but to her surprise, Zhuang Guo Dong was still waiting downstairs. Su Geng Sheng assigned the company's website maintenance to Fang Xie Wen's company, probing why he had proposed now. Fang Xie Wen candidly expressed his fear of Huang Yi Mei being taken away. Huang Yi Mei felt that insecurity was a double-edged sword and hoped he would not let it control him.
Huang's parents prepared many things for Huang Yi Mei's wedding, with the father handwriting couplets and the mother preparing the wedding bedding. They simply wished for their child's health and stability, hoping the couple would do well.
Zhuang Guo Dong went to the publishing house, learning that Huang Yi Mei had taken wedding leave, and was deeply pained. He took a train that night to Yan'an.
Fang Xie Wen brought Huang Yi Mei back to Yan'an to complete the marriage registration. Huang Yi Mei diligently studied Korean, and Fang Xie Wen was concerned the local conditions may distress her, but was relieved to see her happiness.
That evening, as Fang's family entertained relatives and friends, Huang Yi Mei received a text from Zhuang Guo Dong, asking her not to marry. Conflicted, she went outside for some air, and Fang Xie Wen noticed and came to check on her.
