Episode 4 recap: Huang Yi Mei joined the project team.
Huang Zhen Hua went to the research institute to find Bai Xiao He. Bai Xiao He was buried in the lab every day without any other arrangements because she didn't know what else to do besides reading, so she kept reading until she got her doctorate. Huang Zhen Hua felt she was so straightforward that he found her interesting. They didn't know what to talk about, so they ended up discussing the periodic table of elements.
Huang Yi Mei developed a liking for Zhuang Guo Dong. In order to find opportunities to interact with him, she wrote an exhibition planning proposal. Tina thought she was not just after the exhibition but was actually interested in Zhuang Guo Dong, and suggested Huang Yi Mei could directly ask him for his phone number if she really liked him. Huang Yi Mei's interest in Zhuang Guo Dong was one aspect, but she also wanted to understand the industry better.
Huang Zhen Hua and Bai Xiao He discussed astrology, as most girls believe in it, but Bai Xiao He analyzed the principles of astrology in a very rational way. Huang Zhen Hua couldn't find a suitable topic, so he decided to invite her out another day.
Tina decided to give Huang Yi Mei a chance, asking her to report directly to Tina and indirectly to Su Geng Sheng. Su Geng Sheng was surprised that Huang Yi Mei wanted to participate in the Sino-French trade fair. Tina praised Huang Yi Mei's boldness and said that ambitious young talents like her should be sent to the front lines for training.
Huang Zhen Hua was interested in Bai Xiao He and added her on QQ, but didn't know how to initiate a conversation. He spent an entire evening talking to himself in front of the computer but ultimately decided not to send her a message.
Huang Yi Mei officially joined the project team. Zhuang Guo Dong held a meeting to introduce the project to everyone and had the new member Huang Yi Mei introduce herself. However, Huang Yi Mei felt disappointed that Zhuang Guo Dong's attitude did not show any preference for her.
After the meeting, Zhuang Guo Dong chatted with Han Ying, a member of the project team, about the exhibition. Huang Yi Mei wanted to interject but never had the chance. Upset by Zhuang Guo Dong's attitude, Huang Yi Mei complained to Huang Zhen Hua. Huang Zhen Hua teased Huang Yi Mei, saying that it was easy for her to make others like her, and then proceeded to offer his advice from a man's perspective.
The next day, Huang Yi Mei frequently opposed Zhuang Guo Dong's proposals during the discussion meeting. Zhuang Guo Dong mistakenly thought that Huang Yi Mei had issues with him, so he proactively left his phone number for her, hoping she would communicate with him afterwards if she had any opinions.
On the surface, Huang Yi Mei remained calm, but she inwardly rejoiced that Zhuang Guo Dong had taken the bait. Han Ying invited the project colleagues for afternoon tea, boasting about having lunch with Zhuang Guo Dong and making plans to attend the Venice Biennale together. Huang Yi Mei felt displeased and had no appetite for the desserts.
At night, Zhuang Guo Dong reflected on his first encounter with Huang Yi Mei. He had actually fallen for her at first sight, but he had intentionally put on a cold and aloof demeanor to hide his feelings, not knowing Huang Yi Mei's thoughts.
When Zhuang Guo Dong had dinner with Han Ying, he was distracted, constantly checking his phone, but Huang Yi Mei never reached out to him. Zhuang Guo Dong asked Han Ying about Huang Yi Mei's situation and even bought macarons for her and the other colleagues to try.
Huang Zhen Hua went to the cafeteria with his father to pack some food, complaining that Huang Yi Mei didn't come home, so they couldn't cook. However, his father didn't seem to mind. Huang Zhen Hua saw Bai Xiao He eating alone and approached her, delighted to learn that she also had a crush on him.
Zhuang Guo Dong proactively invited the project team members for a meal. Huang Yi Mei was in a bad mood and initially wanted to refuse, but upon hearing Zhuang Guo Dong's strong request, she stayed. During the meal, Zhuang Guo Dong and Han Ying discussed the project, and when he noticed a male colleague constantly trying to get Huang Yi Mei's attention, he immediately grabbed a cup and sat down next to the male colleague, interrupting them.
