Episode 23 recap: Sang Yan's parents went to talk to Duan Jia Xu.

Sang Zhi couldn't wait to find Duan Jia Xu, her eagerness making Sang Yan feel rather exasperated - was it really Duan Jia Xu who had been pursuing Sang Zhi? When Duan Jia Xu arrived, the two of them held hands as they got into the backseat, making Sang Yan nearly cough up his voice. In the end, he resigned himself to being the designated driver.

The three of them went together to attend their gathering, and Sang Zhi's identity transformed from being Duan Jia Xu's sister to his girlfriend. Qian Fei was soon to become a father, and everyone was congratulating him in a joyful atmosphere. Sang Zhi had to be home before 10 o'clock, so Duan Jia Xu accompanied her back, which was also an opportunity for him to sober up.

Duan Jia Xu claimed to be allergic to alcohol, yet he kept kissing Sang Zhi around the mouth, suggesting he might not actually be allergic. Sang Zhi broke off the kiss and ran back home as if escaping. Sang's mother was a bit worried that Sang Zhi had been drinking, but this time, with Sang Yan by her side, she let it go.

Earlier outside, Sang's mother had noticed Sang Zhi's relationship with Duan Jia Xu, and Sang Zhi could only admit it awkwardly, hoping her mother wouldn't worry, as Duan Jia Xu was a good person. Although Sang's mother knew who Duan Jia Xu was, his family background was not good, and even though Duan Jia Xu had taken care of Sang Zhi since they were young, she could not accept them as boyfriend and girlfriend.

Sang Yan planned to visit Sang Zhi's parents at some point, and Sang Zhi nodded, saying she would go ask them about it. Sang Zhi would be twenty next year, and she felt she was too young. If she were not nineteen but twenty-nine, perhaps they would not be opposed.

Sang's father took the opportunity when Sang Zhi was not there to summon Duan Jia Xu to their home, first inquiring about Duan Jia Xu's family situation, and then expressing their concerns. Sang Zhi was still young, and as parents, they couldn't help but worry, since Sang Zhi had been their beloved child. They hoped Duan Jia Xu would seriously consider their future.

After attending the classmates' gathering, Sang Zhi returned home, and Sang's parents reminisced about her childhood, realizing that their little girl had grown into a young woman in the blink of an eye.

Sang Zhi's parents were not powerful people, they just couldn't bear to see Sang Zhi suffer. They told Sang Zhi that they had called Duan Jia Xu over and talked to him, and they also hoped Sang Zhi would think carefully about whether they were suitable for each other, and if not, it might be better to break up.

Sang Zhi fell silent. Duan Jia Xu had never made her suffer, and even if Duan's family was in such a situation, she was willing to help him. She also didn't want her parents to have prejudices against Duan Jia Xu, as his family background was not something Duan Jia Xu could choose. Duan Jia Xu felt complicated after Sang's father's words, and Sang Zhi was worried he would feel pressured and not know what to do, so she called him, hoping he wouldn't be unhappy.

Duan Jia Xu was calm and collected, but Sang Zhi kept affirming him, saying he was a good person and his family's situation had nothing to do with him. Duan Jia Xu's eyes reddened, and he told Sang Zhi to spend more time with her parents and not say anything to them. Duan Jia Xu had to temporarily return to Yihe to see a client the next day, and Sang Zhi couldn't help but worry, fearing Duan Jia Xu was really considering whether to break up.

The next day, Sang Zhi packed her bags and said she wanted to go to Yihe to find Duan Jia Xu. She understood her parents' concerns, but she had grown up and was very sure of what she wanted. Even though they didn't believe in Duan Jia Xu, they could believe in their daughter this once. After arriving at the airport, Duan Jia Xu asked her to wait for him there.

Sang Zhi told Duan Jia Xu that in her second year of high school, she didn't come looking for a random online relationship, but came to find him, because she heard he had a girlfriend, and she liked him even before going to college. Sang Zhi also showed Duan Jia Xu the secret notes she had written as a child. Duan Jia Xu opened the star-patterned notes, and Sang Zhi pleaded awkwardly, hoping he would believe that she truly cared for him and not listen to anyone else, and that they could be together forever.
