Episode 21 recap: Duan Jia Xu knew that Jiang Ying had found Sang Zhi.
After Duan Jia Xu and Sang Yan sent Sang Zhi back home, they planned to go back to the company, and Sang Yan insisted on going with him. Recently, Duan Jia Xu had been staying late at the office after taking Sang Zhi on dates, and Sang Yan couldn't help but sigh that he was risking his life for a relationship.
Duan Jia Xu planned to move to a larger apartment closer to Sang Zhi's school. Sang Yan was still worried about his sister's relationship, but he was relieved to know that Sang Zhi's partner was Duan Jia Xu, as he trusted Duan Jia Xu's character.
The next day, Duan Jia Xu accidentally learned from a colleague that Sang Zhi and Jiang Ying had been seen talking at a KTV a few days earlier. Duan Jia Xu immediately went to confront Jiang Ying, warning her that he would consider calling the police if she continued to approach Sang Zhi, as he would do anything to protect her.
In a meeting, Sang Zhi boldly put forth her own ideas, and although Shi Xiao Yu disagreed, the leadership liked them and decided to let the clients choose between the two proposals. Shi Xiao Yu was even more upset with Sang Zhi, feeling that she had humiliated him by stealing someone else's boyfriend.
Sang Yan told Sang Zhi that he had an early flight the next morning, and Sang Zhi, for some reason, got angry and complained that he didn't tell her in advance, even crying downstairs at the office. When Duan Jia Xu returned, Sang Yan quickly handed Sang Zhi over to him, asking him to comfort her.
Duan Jia Xu knew that Sang Zhi probably wanted to go home, so he planned to take time off to accompany her. He didn't just want to be Sang Zhi's boyfriend, but also someone she could rely on. Sang Zhi still didn't want to say what had happened at the office, so Duan Jia Xu told her that he knew Jiang Ying had approached her, and he hoped she would tell him about any issues she faced in the future.
In the evening, Sang Yan sent Sang Zhi some money for her living expenses and pocket money, and also reminded her not to be too temperamental with Duan Jia Xu. Sang Zhi's proposal had been liked by the client, which left her somewhat surprised and flattered.
Duan Jia Xu had rented a two-bedroom apartment near the school. Although it wasn't for them to live together, Sang Zhi could have a place to rest if she got tired. Duan Jia Xu solemnly handed the keys to Sang Zhi, telling her that this would be her home from now on.
Sang Zhi's dorm air conditioner suddenly broke down, and the dorm supervisor said the repairmen were on vacation, so it would have to wait until the end of summer break. Sang Zhi was very hot, so Duan Jia Xu called her and decided to pick her up to bring her to his place. Duan Jia Xu also bought a lot of food for Sang Zhi, tempting her by saying that if she stayed there, she could have these things to eat every day.
After taking a shower, Duan Jia Xu held Sang Zhi while they played games together. Sang Zhi's hair got tangled in his pajama buttons, and she frantically tried to untangle it. Duan Jia Xu was somewhat unable to control himself, but in the end he restrained his feelings.
Sang Zhi ran back to the bedroom in embarrassment without even putting on her slippers, burying her head in the blanket, unsure of what to do. The next day, Sang Zhi and Duan Jia Xu coincidentally wore matching couple outfits and were both taken aback when they opened the door.
