Episode 6 recap: Xiaoqian Xu was nervous and missed the performance.
While Pei Zhi Jie was folding his coat, Xiaoqian Xu eagerly wanted to help. However, Pei Zhi Jie thought that Xiaoqian Xu couldn't fold it properly. Xiaoqian Xu then enthusiastically went to help Wan Xia. Upon seeing Wan Xia tidying up the strings, Xiaoqian Xu had the urge to touch them, but Wan Xia's expression clearly conveyed her disapproval, which Xiaoqian Xu ignored.
Wang Bo found Xiaoqian Xu's shameless behavior amusing. Now, Xiaoqian Xu has successfully integrated into the Wan Chun Society, and everyone in the society has been inspired by Xiaoqian Xu's enthusiasm. Xiaoqian Xu expressed nervousness about going on stage, but Wang Bo and the others reassured him that it's normal to feel nervous, as they themselves were also anxious when they went on stage.
Pei Zhi Jie came forward and asked them to review the lyrics together, acting as their supervisor. Xiaoqian Xu believed that he had memorized the lyrics perfectly and even suggested going for a drink. However, Pei Zhi Jie immediately approached Xiaoqian Xu, held him down, and instructed him to sit and not move. Pei Zhi Jie also taught Xiaoqian Xu some methods to relax and relieve tension by pressing certain acupoints.
Everyone went back to rest. When Wan Xia was about to sleep, she heard someone knocking on the door. It was a bit scary in the middle of the night, but when she opened the door, she saw Xiaoqian Xu wearing a dinosaur costume, which startled her. Wan Xia was surprised to see Xiaoqian Xu still wearing that outfit after they had just finished drinking tea. She thought he looked like a terrifying and disgusting toad.
Xiaoqian Xu was delighted to see Wan Xia's fear. He told Wan Xia that they would be going on stage the next day and felt very excited. Wan Xia reminded Xiaoqian Xu that it was already the day after midnight, which made Xiaoqian Xu a bit nervous. He begged Wan Xia repeatedly to review the lyrics with him. Wan Xia thought Xiaoqian Xu was truly peculiar. In the daytime, he didn't want to review the lyrics, but now, in the middle of the night, he insisted on staying up late. However, Xiaoqian Xu's earnest pleading was hard to resist.
Xiaoqian Xu energetically asked Wan Xia which word he should emphasize, but Wan Xia, with his eyes forced open, indicated that he wanted to sleep. Wan Xia expressed that Xiaoqian Xu was truly annoying, as he had made him review for two hours for just fifteen minutes of practice.
Xiaoqian Xu listened to what Wan Xia said, and he felt even more determined to innovate. Wan Xia mentioned that he wanted to sleep, but Xiaoqian Xu followed him into his room and insisted that Wan Xia practice with him. Suddenly, they felt a bit hungry and ate some instant noodles. Wan Xia looked at Xiaoqian Xu, who had fallen asleep, and called out to him to recite the lines. Xiaoqian Xu felt that their original lines were too cliché, so they decided to change them, and both of them became increasingly excited, trying out various patterns.
Xiaoqian Xu resisted his drowsiness and cooperated with Wan Xia as he recited the lines. Wan Xia memorized the lines as Xiaoqian Xu suggested, and it seemed like they were practicing in a familiar place, getting stuck at certain points. Pei Zhi Jie and Lu Zhi Fei were performing together doing cross talk (xiangsheng). When Xiaoqian Xu woke up, it was already evening, and Wan Xia had missed the time.
Wang Bo informed them that they had already missed the scheduled time. Pei Zhi Jie was angry at how Wan Xia and Xiaoqian Xu had handled the situation. Initially, everyone had expected them to reflect on their actions, but unexpectedly, Wan Xia and Xiaoqian Xu performed together in perfect harmony. Pei Zhi Jie didn't know what to say anymore.
Xiaoqian Xu and Wan Xia were very diligent in seeking forgiveness from Pei Zhi Jie, and Pei Zhi Jie realized that they were all pleading for Xiaoqian Xu. Before Xiaoqian Xu went to sleep, Pei Zhi Jie asked him to wash his socks, to which Xiaoqian Xu complained of a headache.
