Episode 9 recap: Xing Zhi helped Shen Li heal.

Xing Zhi consistently claimed in front of Shen Li that he had never known her before and had not experienced mortal life. However, when Shen Li fell into a coma, he worried about her greatly by her bedside and even transferred his spiritual power to heal her. Under Xing Zhi's attentive care, Shen Li felt her body recovering quickly.

In the afternoon of that day, Shen Li took Xing Zhi to Xutian Abyss to check the seal. The road was rough and difficult to traverse. Shen Li moved swiftly and skillfully, while Xing Zhi, dressed in his celestial robe, walked slowly with his robes fluttering. Shen Li looked back at him leisurely and couldn't help but sigh, "The old ox is pulling the cart."

On the way, Shen Li was entangled by a wild boar infected with miasma. According to tradition, normal wild boars are very respectful to their masters. Xing Zhi suggested burning it, as it would cause more trouble in the future. Shen Li couldn't bear to kill the spirit and instead kicked the little pig away to set it free. Although Shen Li had never had a good impression of the immortal realm, she was still very admiring when she saw Xing Zhi wave his hand and revive a thousand-year-old spirit tree that was once dead. The surrounding withered grass instantly became lush and green again. The soldiers of the spirit realm saw the moon above their heads finally emerge from the dark clouds, hanging bright in the sky. The earth was bathed in a peaceful radiance, instantly becoming calm and serene, and they all marveled at the boundlessness of the gods in the immortal realm.

Mo Fang saw the gap between himself and Xing Zhi and began to feel inferior. Xing Zhi revived the thousand-year-old ancient tree in Xutian Abyss and plucked a fresh leaf to give to Shen Li. He took her to the tree to witness the moonrise. Shen Li had never looked down on Xutian Abyss from a tree, especially on a night with a full moon, where all was quiet. She thoroughly enjoyed the moment of tranquility and casually remarked that it would be even better if there were singing.

Xing Zhi then played a tune with the leaf in his hand, producing a clear and melodious sound. Shen Li saw Xing Zhi's profile and couldn't help but feel that he resembled Xing Yun greatly. Shen Li and Xing Yun did not return from their outing, so Mo Fang had been waiting in the military camp. His comrades knew what was on his mind and couldn't help but ask him what he liked about the prince. When Mo Fang thought about the tenderness on Shen Li's face, he liked everything about the prince wherever he went and was willing to do anything for Shen Li.

Shen Li and Xing Zhi have returned, and Mo Fang's worried heart can finally be put at ease. He sees that Shen Li is safe and well. Shen Li asks about Mo Fang's recovery from his recent injuries and, thinking about his confession during the day, tries to maintain some distance from him.

Mo Fang senses Shen Li's inner conflict and openly says not to let yesterday's impulsive actions affect the mission. As he watches Mo Fang walk away, Shen Li ponders: After thousands of years, she has finally encountered a man willing to confess his feelings to her, but the timing is wrong. She still holds Xing Yun in her heart, even though he is no longer with her. She simply cannot make room for anyone else, especially when there's the prospective fiancé, Fu Rong. Therefore, she has no desire to be involved with any other man at the moment.

When the Spirit Sovereign sees that Shen Li has been out in Xutian Abyss for a long time without any news, he personally divines the situation and senses that something is amiss. Additionally, the guards who came to report mention the striking resemblance between Xing Zhi and Xing Yun. So the Spirit Sovereign uses the art of shadow concealment to go and see for himself. When the Spirit Sovereign sees Xing Zhi standing beside Shen Li, a chill runs down his spine. It's clear that Xing Zhi is the same person as Xing Yun, but Shen Li is unaware of this.

The Spirit Sovereign urges Shen Li to quickly return to the Spirit Realm. Shen Li is still concerned about reinforcing the seal, but going back now would be counterproductive. Furthermore, Xing Zhi, who is standing nearby, doesn't agree with Shen Li going back. The Spirit Sovereign can't force the matter any further and can only urge Shen Li to reinforce the seal and return promptly.
