Episode 30 recap: Shen Li confronts the emotions between two people.
The snake demon guards Shen Li in the cave and sees her using the Fire Lotus to restore her difficult-to-recover inner energy. The snake demon does its best to increase the temperature of the Fire Lotus to alleviate her icy inner power. Shen Li reveals that she was born with a pearl, and she is confused by the conflicting energies between the Bihai Cangzhu (pearl) and her own spiritual power. The snake demon suspects that the Spirit Emperor has hidden the truth and that the pearl may just be a demon pill. The snake demon shows its own inner core, which is similar to the Bihai Cangzhu, surprising Shen Li.
On the eighth day, Fu Sheng brings puppets to steal the treasure. The snake demon instructs Shen Li to hold her ground while it goes out to fight. Fu Sheng unleashes the puppets to attack, but the snake demon handles them with ease and laughs at his futile attempt. During the battle, the snake demon unexpectedly loses its inner core, and Fu Sheng retreats without being pursued.
The puppets find Shen Li, and together with Xing Zhi, who was protecting her, they fall into a sealed place. The snake demon points out that they need to find the eye of the formation on their own in order to get out. Shen Li is not yet fully healed, and Xing Zhi asks the snake demon for a method to heal her. Shen Li reveals that the snake demon lowered her temperature by lightly stroking her lower abdomen.
Shen Li is eager to merge with the Bihai Cangzhu and has only one day of treatment time left. Xing Zhi assists her with divine power, but when she becomes restless, she hears a voice in her ear, telling her that she can indulge in desire but must not violate Xing Zhi, as he is the only heavenly god.
In the formation eye, Shen Li sees Xing Zhi freezing the Eastern Sea for her and sustaining severe injuries, which deeply moves her. Xing Zhi, similarly influenced by the voice, has been lonely for thousands of years and longs to spend time with Shen Li. Shen Li finally confronts her inner feelings and gently kisses Xing Zhi, and the two of them become emotionally entangled amidst the shimmering waves.
