Episode 2 recap: Shen Li Helps the Farmer Woman Achieve Her Dream.
Shen Li returned to the courtyard once again and found that staying here seemed to accelerate her recovery, and Xingyun fed her regularly and understood her speech. After giving it some thought, Shen Li decided to stay here temporarily to recover her strength before continuing her journey. She stayed in the small courtyard for several days. Shen Li looked at the farmer woman's worried expression and knew that her husband had gone to battle. As battles inevitably carried risks, Xingyun appeared moved as well but still insisted that he couldn't divine the whereabouts of her husband.
Watching the farmer woman leave in despair, Shen Li even blamed Xingyun for not saying anything. Perhaps Xingyun had already figured it out but, due to certain reasons, couldn't speak up. Late at night, Shen Li quietly left and went straight to the farmer woman's home, with Xingyun following closely behind. Shen Li arrived at the farmer woman's humble house and discovered that the unusual aura she sensed from the woman during the day actually came from her husband. Fifteen years ago, the woman's husband had sacrificed himself in battle and, due to his exceptional bravery, was promoted to the immortal realm. However, unable to let go of his concern for his wife, he didn't ascend to the heavenly realm but instead stayed by her side, silently accompanying and protecting her.
Unfortunately, the farmer woman was unaware of this and had been longing for him for over a decade. Xingyun used his magic to help the husband manifest in front of his wife, and Shen Li witnessed the emotional scene as the couple tightly embraced and cried.
