Episode 15 recap: Xing Zhi and Shen Li join forces to rescue the Earth Immortals.
At Qingya Cave, the escaped Earth Immortal takes Shen Li and Xing Zhi to find their missing colleague. Seeing a strong presence of demonic energy ahead, Xing Zhi gives the Earth Immortal a magical tool and instructs him to go back first, while Xing Zhi and Shen Li proceed to rescue the imprisoned Earth Immortals. As they draw closer, Xing Zhi and Shen Li hear screams coming from the cells. Demons are draining the spiritual energy of the Earth Immortals. It appears to be an organized and powerful group. Xing Zhi assigns tasks to Shen Li, instructing her to rescue the captive Earth Immortals, while he sets up protective formations in the surroundings to assist her.
Shen Li enters the battle, displaying bravery and skill. However, at a crucial moment, Xing Zhi effortlessly waves his sleeve, opening all the prison gates. The imprisoned Earth Immortals from different cells are released. They reveal that they were captured by people from the Spirit Realm, who not only disrespect the Spirit Realm but also openly insult the character of the Spirit Emperor.
Unable to tolerate this, Shen Li becomes furious and grabs one of the men who was speaking disrespectfully. Xing Zhi intervenes and persuades Shen Li to remain calm. The hasty actions of the Spirit Realm's people have made the situation more chaotic. Shen Li reluctantly releases her grip. With the Earth Immortals rescued, Shen Li bids farewell to Xing Zhi. She plans to find Furong, but after the recent battle, she is feeling hungry. Xing Zhi offers to cook for Shen Li, as she hasn't eaten the food made by Yunxing for a long time. With someone volunteering to cook, Shen Li agrees to eat before continuing her journey.
Xing Zhi led Shen Li to a courtyard, originally intending to borrow the kitchen. However, they discovered that it was a shady establishment, and the landlady turned out to be a snake demon. There was also another small snake hidden there. Shen Li warned the snake demon, as the appearance of the small snake resembled the Little Lotus she had seen in the mortal realm.
When the small snake heard that they were going to Jin Yue Mansion to eliminate demons, it volunteered to join them. In the city of Jinxiu, even though it was late at night, the air was filled with demonic energy. People affected by the poisonous miasma lay dead everywhere, with no one caring. Xing Zhi spontaneously rescued a poisoned mother. Soon, they heard footsteps approaching, and a filthy-looking person led others to find a safe place to take refuge. It turned out to be Furong!
Furong, who was once handsome and elegant in the immortal realm, now appeared so disheveled. Furong explained that he had already saved several innocent people who were injured or poisoned. He then brought Shen Li and Xing Zhi to his residence, where they indeed found many people who had been helped by Furong. It seemed that Furong still had some conscience. Shen Li nodded with a smile. Then she heard the excited cries of a little demon calling out a person's name. Shen Li followed the voice and was surprised to see a familiar face—it was Gu Chengjin!
Seeing the joy on the little snake demon's face when it saw its so-called "brother" Jingyan (Gu Chengjin), the scene seemed familiar, reminding Shen Li of how Little Lotus sacrificed her own life to save Gu Chengjin's beloved, even at the cost of her own life. Although the names had changed, it felt like entering a cycle once again. Gu Chengjin was carefully taking care of a deeply poisoned woman who bore many similarities to the Ye family.
Xing Zhi told Shen Li that after becoming the city lord, Gu Chengjin had planted many lotus flowers in a pond in his mansion, as a tribute to the Little Lotus who sacrificed herself for him.
