Episode 19 recap: The White-Clad Gang Departed.

Yan Nanxing and Jiang Xinbai started talking about the elder brother, and Yan Nanxing expressed that he wanted to repay the elder brother's kindness. Jiang Xinbai asked Yan Nanxing if he could distinguish between kindness and obligation, and Yan Nanxing said the elder brother's was kindness. General Nan wanted to enter the palace, but Jiang Xinbai said it was not the right time yet. Jiang Xinbai did not expect that Shang Bielie's departure would embolden someone like Li Wufang to show off his might. Shang Bielie asked him whom he was cursing.

Yan Nanxing overheard the conversation between Jiang Xinbai and Jiang Suoluo outside, and came back to make a lot of delicious food for Jiang Xinbai, saying that no matter what happened, they should eat well. Jiang Xinbai felt that even though Jiang Suoluo was not a child, he should still be able to distinguish right from wrong. Yan Nanxing felt that this was not just a child's matter, and for Jiang Suoluo, family was the most important.

Yan Nanxing asked Jiang Xinbai to eat first, and after the meal, he took him to a place. Yan Nanxing brought Jiang Xinbai to the ghost market, to find the Persian witch, and gave her some money, asking her to cheer up Jiang Xinbai. The Persian witch told them that Yan Nanxing had peach blossoms around him, but Jiang Xinbai did not, which made Jiang Xinbai even more depressed.

Shang Bielie and his men came to the Twelve Joyful Pavilion and conducted a thorough search. They happened to see Tong Saier there as well. Tong Saier said that there was no work to be done on Yan Nanxing's side, so she came here to find work. The people here were arrested, but Li Wufang did not admit that he had Guicao here. Tong Saier, with her keen sense of smell, said the guest had the scent of Guicao on his hands, and found it in a secret compartment in the room. The guest tried to deal with Tong Saier, but was stopped by Shang Bielie.

Li Wufang wept and claimed that he was just running a business, and had no idea what the guest was doing.

Tong Saier has nowhere to go now. Shang Bieli said that if Tong Saier is willing, she can come to his mansion to work. Tong Saier packed and unpacked, knocking over many things, but Shang Bieli didn't say anything. Li Wufang told Lord Li and Lord Lu about this matter, and they didn't expect Shang Bieli to be an ingrate, having collected so much money from them, and now coming to investigate them.

Lord Lu said he had a plan, but it would require Li Wufang to humble himself a little. Li Wufang and Lord Li and Lord Lu came to the Emperor and accused Shang Bieli of taking their contributions, and that Shang Bieli was the one actually running Li Wufang's business. The Emperor was also very angry, saying he had trusted Shang Bieli so much, entrusting the capital's defense to him, but he did such a thing.

Shang Bieli had no defense. The Southern General learned of this and came to find Jiang Xinbai, saying he wanted to attack, but Jiang Xinbai did not agree, saying he was still under the court's censure and would be arrested before even reaching the palace gates. The Emperor summoned Jiang Xinbai and told him to interrogate Shang Bieli, giving him one hour. Jiang Xinbai brought the Southern General over, and Shang Bieli was surprised.

Jiang Xinbai said he didn't expect Shang Bieli to allow the likes of Li Wufang to flaunt their power, and asked Shang Bieli who he was cursing. Shang Bieli said he was cursing Jiang Xinbai, and the Southern General quickly tried to smooth things over. Jiang Xinbai asked Shang Bieli what was really going on, and Shang Bieli said the money he collected was used to support the sacrificed and injured soldiers and their families.

Lord Lu also knew about this, saying Shang Bieli didn't dare to say it because it would be admitting the Emperor did not care for the soldiers. Jiang Xinbai said Shang Bieli had some sense in this matter, and came to see the Emperor, saying they were also trying to eliminate the Gui Cao, and hoped the Emperor would give them another chance. The Emperor originally had no intention of punishing them, and said he would give them two more months.

Shang Bieli came out feeling awkward, and said he had misunderstood Jiang Xinbai, and asked Jiang Xinbai to hit him three times. Jiang Xinbai said Shang Bieli's way of apologizing was quite unique, and the Southern General said they would listen to Jiang Xinbai from now on.
