Episode 12 recap: Liu Ruoqian came to look for Yan Nanxing.
Liu Ruoqian arrived, and Yan Nanxing hesitated, saying they have rules here and everyone says rules are made by people, so Yan Nanxing could make an exception. Jiang Xinbai told Yan Nanxing not to hire Liu Ruoqian, and Yan Nanxing asked Jiang Xinbai if he's always like this, speaking to people like interrogating criminals. Shang Bielie said he'd like to see what kind of magic this woman has that makes Jiang Xinbai so nervous.
Liu Ruoqian came, and Yan Nanxing quickly explained they have rules here, which are clearly stated in the recruitment notice - they are hiring female workers. During the argument, Tong Saier's little brother's painting accidentally fell into the water, and she got very angry. Shang Bieli came over and said they were causing a disturbance, so he arrested both of them. Yan Nanxing and Tong Saier explained about the painting, and Yan Nanxing agreed to help restore it. Jiang Xinbai's subordinate came to take Yan Nanxing out, and Yan Nanxing asked him to take Tong Saier out as well, which the subordinate agreed to.

Jiang Xinbai said he had told Yan Nanxing before that as long as Yan Nanxing encountered him, he would protect him fully, whether Yan Nanxing was grateful or not. Tong Saier was very sensitive to medicinal herbs, which Yan Nanxing was happy to discover, and he wanted to keep her there to help.
Tong Saier felt she still owed money to the teahouse that she hadn't paid back, so she may not be able to stay. Yan Nanxing felt these were all minor issues.
