Episode 6 recap: The White Lotus of the River and Nan Xing became close.
Jiang Xin Bai and Nan Xing returned to find that the General's wife had disappeared. The two split up to search for her, but could not find her. Jiang Xin Bai listened carefully to the nearby sounds and heard the General's wife's voice, and went with Nan Xing to the alley. The mysterious woman saw Jiang Xin Bai and Nan Xing coming and quickly left.
Jiang Xin Bai asked the General's wife what happened. The General's wife said the woman was just lost, as the main street was very noisy and she couldn't hear clearly, so she came to the alley to talk. But before she could say much, Jiang Xin Bai and Nan Xing had arrived. The General's wife held a ceremony, and the General said he was attracted to her appearance before.
The General's wife said she did this for Jiang Xin Bai and Nan Xing, as they were in love, so she prayed for them and calculated they had three destined encounters, with the first marriage being by the water, which was here. She wanted to hold a ceremony for them. Nan Xing quickly denied they had that kind of relationship, but Jiang Xin Bai agreed, so Nan Xing couldn't say anything more.
Nan Xing asked Jiang Xin Bai why he agreed to let them hold a wedding. Jiang Xin Bai said the Gui Cao incident was not fully resolved, and there were still many evildoers, so he wanted to take this opportunity to eliminate them all, and also let Nan Xing and the General's wife safely leave. Jiang Xin Bai said he was secretly happy that Nan Xing had burned those Gui Cao, even though he had criticized her recklessness. He felt they were very similar people, and he had his own things to do. After this, he would tell Nan Xing his true identity.
Nan Xing was moved to hear that Jiang Xin Bai trusted her, and agreed to cooperate with his plan. Seeing the wedding dress, Nan Xing recalled being kidnapped as a child and almost forced to marry someone, until an older brother came to rescue her.
The older brother also took Nan Xing to see the flowers, which were said to be the flowers of the Underworld - they could only be seen at night, not during the day.
The General's wife came and said that in an hour, Nan Xing would be the center of all the excitement, and told Nan Xing to quickly get dressed up. The General's wife gave Nan Xing a pair of cups, which Nan Xing felt were too precious to accept, but the General's wife insisted it was from the heart, so Nan Xing accepted them.
Jiang Xin Bai's men had investigated, and Jiang Xin Bai understood that the whole city was on high alert, because during the wedding, the wedding boat had to circle the city once, so it was the only one allowed to enter and exit. This plan was indeed clever.
Soon it was time for the evening wedding. Nan Xing came by boat, and she and Jiang Xin Bai held the wedding ceremony, with the General and General's wife watching. Many people were gathered to observe, all looking happy.
Back on the boat, the General's wife brought the ceremonial wine cups. Jiang Xin Bai and Nan Xing drank from them, and Jiang Xin Bai immediately pretended to drunkenly fall asleep, resting his head on Nan Xing's lap. Nan Xing couldn't push him off, and just let him stay there. In reality, Jiang Xin Bai was feigning drunkenness, and his men were nearby.
A boat then approached, and Jiang Xin Bai was prepared. He told Nan Xing to stay put, and engaged the people on the boat in a fight, capturing one of them. Unexpectedly, the General's wife then came and took Nan Xing hostage, shocking Nan Xing, as she didn't think the General's wife would do such a thing.
The General's wife took Nan Xing away, demanding that Jiang Xin Bai let the boat and the captured person go. Jiang Xin Bai had no choice but to agree and let the boat leave.
