Episode 3 recap: Li Meng Meng and Qi Yan are acting.

Li Meng Meng saw Qi Su's true face and realized that he looked exactly like her modern idol, Bai Lian. She felt happy thinking that Duo Er was here and Bai Lian was too. Li Meng Meng asked Qi Yan if that person was the prince, and Qi Yan asked her if she had been outside for so long just to see him.

Li Meng Meng confirmed it and asked Qi Yan if he didn't think he was very handsome. Qi Yan put a pastry in her mouth to silence her and then took her out to eat. Cui Anshi thought the prince had already returned to the palace, and since Qi Yan didn't want to share the palace with Cui Wan Er, they shouldn't blame them for being impolite.

Saying that, Cui Anshi gave the best C powder to Cui Wan Er, telling her to keep it well because they would definitely need it in the future. Qi Yan and Li Meng Meng had just arrived at the restaurant when they saw Cui Wan Er not far away. Lu Huan, who was beside Qi Yan, suggested finding another place.

Qi Yan also thought it would be better to change locations. He told Lu Huan not to let Li Meng Meng know what they were up to and to keep her busy. Before he could say anything, Li Meng Meng shouted "Lin Duo Er" towards Cui Wan Er. Qi Yan had no choice but to go over and greet Cui Wan Er, inviting her to have a meal with them.

Kong An came over and told Qi Yan that Lord Li had arrived. After hearing that, Qi Yan asked Li Meng Meng to stay and accompany Cui Wan Er for dinner while he stepped out. Li Meng Meng saw Cui Wan Er eating with her head down and asked if she liked to eat when she was unhappy.

Cui Wan Er asked how she knew, and Li Meng Meng mentioned that she had a friend who was the same way. Unexpectedly, after drinking a few glasses of wine, Cui Wan Er fainted on the table. Li Meng Meng quickly supported her and took her outside. When they were outside, Cui Wan Er said that she didn't want to share the palace. Before Li Meng Meng could answer, Qi Yan interrupted.

He asked Li Meng Meng what was going on, and she explained that there had been a slight accident. Lu Huan looked at the drunk Cui Wan Er and asked Qi Yan if they should share the palace tonight, fulfilling the Empress Dowager's and Cui Anshi's wish.

Qi Yan thought it was a good idea and ordered Lu Huan to announce that he would share the palace with the noble consort tonight.

Upon hearing that Cui Wan Er didn't want to share the palace, Li Meng Meng quickly stopped Qi Yan. To prevent Qi Yan from actually sharing the palace, she went to his sleeping chamber.

Qi Yan noticed someone eavesdropping outside the door, so he and Li Meng Meng started acting. The person outside saw Qi Yan and Li Meng Meng embracing each other and mistakenly thought it was Qi Yan with the noble consort, Cui Wan Er. The person hurriedly went to report to the Empress Dowager and Cui Anshi, who were delighted upon hearing the news.

While Li Meng Meng was using modern methods to pray for rain, Qi Yan suddenly entered. Li Meng Meng was startled and accidentally knocked over the documents in the study. She saw a canal construction plan tucked inside the book, and Qi Yan quickly hid the blueprint, afraid that Li Meng Meng would see it.

Early in the morning, the palace maids were discussing the incident of Cui Wan Er and Qi Yan sharing the palace the previous night. Cui Wan Er happened to overhear them, and her attendant scolded the gossiping maids. Cui Wan Er coincidentally encountered Qi Su, the person she had been thinking about, but she remembered that when she found out about her marriage alliance with Qi Yan, she hastily wrote a letter to Qi Su, hoping for his return.

Unexpectedly, Qi Su replied, informing her that he would be stationed at the border for three years and advised her to find someone else with whom she had a connection. With these thoughts in mind, Cui Wan Er walked straight past him without even turning her head. The Empress Dowager summoned Qi Su and asked for suggestions on what name to give to the child of Qi Yan and Cui Wan Er.

Cui Wan Er's maid, Shi Tao, praised her for looking beautiful that day, but Cui Wan Er wondered what the point was if she looked good. She felt like a caged bird. However, Shi Tao mentioned that everything would be better once she had a little prince. Upon hearing this, tears welled up in Cui Wan Er's eyes. She told Shi Tao that she needed to leave the palace and went to the magnolia tree where she and Qi Su had once carved their vows together.

Cui Wan Er recalled their past promises and couldn't help but cry. Coincidentally, Qi Su also arrived. He called out Cui Wan Er's name, but she interrupted him and asked Shi Tao to bring over Qi Su's belongings to return to him. Cui Wan Er told him that she had already married Qi Yan, and from now on, they had no connection with each other.
