Episode 1 recap: Li Meng Meng Travels to Qiguo.
While Li Meng Meng was in class, she received a text message from her good friend, asking her to meet at their usual spot after school because she had a surprise for her. Unexpectedly, the teacher suddenly appeared behind her and asked her to come to the office after class. After leaving the teacher's office, Li Meng Meng was caught in a heavy rainstorm. Her mother didn't arrive, so she had no choice but to run into the rain by herself.
She managed to find her good friend Duo'er, who presented her with an autographed photo of her idol. This made Li Meng Meng so happy that she forgot about everything else. Duo'er reminded her that it was already 8 o'clock, and asked if it would be alright if she didn't go back home. Upon hearing this, Li Meng Meng quickly prepared to go home. As soon as she stepped out the door, she saw a yellow umbrella at the entrance and instinctively grabbed it before heading home.
As soon as Li Meng Meng arrived home, she got into a big argument with her mother and locked herself in her room. Her mother received a phone call and hurriedly went off to work, telling Li Meng Meng that there was food in the pot and she should heat it up herself. Muttering to herself about having to heat it up again, Li Meng Meng threw everything from her backpack onto the bed.
Carrying the yellow umbrella, Li Meng Meng left the house while looking at a photo of her father on her phone. She missed him dearly. Li Meng Meng arrived at her father's grave and recalled the moments they had spent together. It started to rain heavily, but she continued walking with the umbrella on the bridge her father had repaired before.
Suddenly, Li Meng Meng saw an ancient building in front of her, and the scene shifted to ancient Qiguo. They were holding a grand ceremony today because the Dragon Star had appeared, signifying the beginning of prosperity. They hoped that the heavens would bless the people of Qiguo and send down heavy rain. On the other side, Li Meng Meng saw a building and gave it a kick, only to discover it was a water pool. Startled, she quickly retracted her foot.
However, she thought of her mother's scolding and thought that if she was so useless, she might as well disappear. Saying this, Li Meng Meng jumped into the water pool. The emperor of Qiguo and the people all knelt down, praying to the heavens for rain. Unexpectedly, it actually started raining, but they were unaware that it was artificially induced by the emperor's command.
Shortly after, the machine broke down, and the rain stopped. As the emperor, Qi Yan, prepared to leave, the high priest suggested giving it another try. Just as Qi Yan turned to leave, there was some movement in the water tank with the intertwined dragons. Qi Yan approached the tank to investigate when suddenly someone grabbed him.
Everyone panicked, thinking it was an assassin, and they were about to kill Li Meng Meng. It took Li Meng Meng a while to realize that she had time-traveled, and she quickly came up with a clever plan, claiming to be a divine envoy sent by the heavens specifically to bring rain. After saying this, Li Meng Meng shouted to the sky, "Xiao, the envoy of the gods, is here! Please bestow rain from the heavens!" She repeated it twice, and then the sky thundered and rain poured down.
Now some of the ministers in Qiguo started to believe what she said, and they devoutly knelt down to pray. Li Meng Meng seized the opportunity and quickly escaped. While fleeing, she overheard the emperor telling his entourage that he suspected Li Meng Meng was a spy sent by Cui Anshi.
Qi Yan instructed the eunuch by his side to execute Li Meng Meng on sight. Upon hearing this, Li Meng Meng realized that she had to find a way to escape, so she put on the attire of one of the ministers, preparing for her getaway. During the morning court session, Qi Yan inquired if any of the ministers had any knowledge about the divine envoy who appeared that day, and he urged everyone to inform him immediately if they had any information.
After the court session, Li Meng Meng went to find her backpack but couldn't locate it. While searching, she discovered it in Qi Yan's room. The eunuch asked Qi Yan what was inside, and Qi Yan told him to open it. As they were discussing, Li Meng Meng's phone rang, startling both Qi Yan and the eunuch.
The eunuch wondered why Commander Kong had left such a dangerous object there. Qi Yan was about to smash the phone with his sword when Li Meng Meng yelled at him to stop. Qi Yan interrogated Li Meng Meng about her origin, and she used various excuses to evade the question.
