Episode 15 recap: Qi Yan and Li Meng Meng have reconciled.
Qi Yan asked Li Meng Meng why she did that, and she could tell him any difficulties or reasons she had, why she had to bear it alone. However, Li Meng Meng said that Qi Yan had really mistaken her for someone else. Qi Yan said that if he had mistaken her, then she should return the bracelet she was wearing.
Li Meng Meng quickly grabbed her hand and said that things that were given away couldn't be taken back. Li Meng Meng and Li Gongzi were about to go out together to see the Lantern Festival when Qi Yan asked them how they ended up here. Just as they were speaking, Sai Xue came out and said that Li Meng Meng and the others should go out first because she had something to deal with.
Li Meng Meng, Qi Yan, and Li Gongzi went to see the lanterns together. Li Gongzi suggested buying clothes for Li Meng Meng. Li Meng Meng said she didn't have enough money, so she wouldn't buy them. Li Gongzi said he would buy them for her. Qi Yan asked who Li Meng Meng was to him and why he wanted to buy her clothes.
They started arguing, and Li Meng Meng told them to stop and that she would buy the clothes herself. Kong An and Lu Huan secretly investigated Li Gongzi. Kong An discovered that he hadn't stayed at the Sai Mansion last night. The three of them arrived at a stall where archery was being done, and Li Meng Meng liked the small dog on the stall.
Qi Yan said he would help her win it, and Li Gongzi wasn't willing to back down. They competed, and Qi Yan ended up winning. Li Gongzi asked if Qi Yan did it on purpose, and Qi Yan said, "So what if I did it on purpose?" To prevent them from arguing again, Li Meng Meng quickly said she was hungry and wanted to eat.
While they were eating, Sai Xue arrived and handed a special Yangcheng-style steamed bun to Qi Yan. Qi Yan thanked her and gave her one in return, which made Li Meng Meng feel uncomfortable. Sai Xue also took out two red strings and said they were a feature of the Lantern Festival.
She said that if two people who were in love tied the strings together and persisted until the end, they would receive silver coins. Qi Yan went along with this custom, and Li Gongzi said that Qi Yan shouldn't be interested in it since he wasn't the richest person in Qiguo. Qi Yan said he was just following local customs, and Li Meng Meng left disappointed.
It turned out that before they left the mansion, Qi Yan had asked Sai Xue to help him stage this play. Li Meng Meng watched as the two of them folded lanterns together, and she felt even more uncomfortable. She asked Li Gongzi if there needed to be a reason to like someone, and Li Gongzi told her that there didn't need to be one. Li Meng Meng asked why not.
Li Gongzi told her that if there had to be a reason to like someone, then it would be calculated. Sai Xue admired the fact that Meng Meng had Qi Yan, a devoted gentleman, protecting her. Qi Yan said that Sai Xue didn't know that Li Meng Meng had done a lot for him as well. Sai Xue felt that they needed to put in more effort, and suddenly fireworks lit up the sky.
Sai Xue shouted for Li Meng Meng to quickly look at the fireworks, and the four of them went to watch together. Sai Xue leaned on Qi Yan's shoulder. Li Meng Meng looked at the two of them and thought that even if it wasn't her, Qi Yan had someone to accompany him to watch the fireworks, and there would be someone who liked him.
Finally, Li Meng Meng and Qi Yan had a chance to be alone. Qi Yan asked Li Meng Meng to tell him any difficulties or reasons she had and not to keep it to herself. Li Meng Meng disagreed, saying that no one would take back something they gave to someone. Qi Yan asked her if she had any other reasons now. Li Meng Meng said she didn't, and finally, the two of them reconciled and shared a passionate kiss under the fireworks.
Kong An told Qi Yan that he found a clue at the place where Li Gongzi used to live before. He handed the Sai Mansion's blueprint he found to Qi Yan. Qi Yan felt that it might be related to the disaster relief grain. Just as he finished speaking, he saw Li Meng Meng being taken by a stranger to a dark place. It turned out that this person was Li Gongzi's guard, and he had brought Li Meng Meng there to trap her. Qi Yan saw this and jumped in as well.
Inside the dry well, the two of them confessed their true feelings. Coincidentally, Lu Huan and Kong An, who had come to rescue them, overheard their conversation.
