Episode 11 recap: Qi Yan carried Li Meng Meng on his back.
Qi Yan noticed that Li Meng Meng had twisted her foot, so he decided to carry her. Li Meng Meng insisted that she could walk, but Qi Yan squatted in front of her. As Qi Yan carried her, Li Meng Meng asked him if he felt like the happiest person in the world now, being carried by the emperor and having her feet massaged by the emperor.
Li Meng Meng realized that she seemed to have developed feelings for Qi Yan. Qi Yan knocked on the door and called for Li Meng Meng, but he found that there was no one inside the room. Wondering where she had gone so early in the morning, he went to the construction site and found Li Meng Meng pouring water for the workers.
Li Meng Meng also brought a towel for Lord Li to wipe his sweat, and when Qi Yan saw this, he called out to Li Meng Meng. Li Meng Meng wondered why Qi Yan was up so early, and Qi Yan jokingly asked her why she had so much energy.
Just as Li Meng Meng was about to put down the water she had prepared for Qi Yan, he immediately took it and drank it all. Li Meng Meng sensed that Qi Yan was angry, so after he left, she asked Lord Li if she had done something wrong. Lord Li replied that he didn't think so, and Li Meng Meng hurriedly caught up with Qi Yan.
Li Meng Meng asked Qi Yan if he hadn't slept well the previous night, and Qi Yan remarked that she was acting like Lord Li's little tail. Li Meng Meng told him that it was because Lord Li resembled her father, who had left her when she was eight years old.
Seeing Lord Li reminded her of her father, and after Qi Yan listened, he wasn't angry anymore. He said he didn't know about these things. Li Meng Meng reassured him that it was okay, as she knew her father was definitely watching over her from somewhere. Qi Su learned that Cui Qingluo accidentally pushed Cui Wan Er down, and he thought it was better to let it go since Cui Qingluo was Cui Wan Er's cousin.
Qi Su's subordinate informed him that Qi Yan was in Luxian to open a canal, and Qi Su realized that he had misunderstood Qi Yan. The subordinate also told him that there was a group of highly skilled people following Qi Yan, and they couldn't approach them to inquire. Upon hearing this, Qi Su decided to go to Luxian.
Li Meng Meng and Qi Yan were running on the mountain together, and she knew that Lord Li had muscle injuries. Li Meng Meng expressed her desire to gather some herbs for Lord Li, and Qi Yan was surprised to learn that she knew about herbs. Li Meng Meng mentioned that she had only realized how convenient her hometown was after coming here, as there were ready-made ointments for any kind of injury.
Qi Yan asked her if she regretted coming here, and Li Meng Meng admitted that she had some regrets initially, but now she was glad to have met Qi Yan and made good friends.
As they were talking, Li Meng Meng spotted the herbs she wanted to pick, but she twisted her foot in the process. Qi Yan quickly helped her massage her foot and carried her again.
Li Meng Meng asked if she was now the happiest person in the world because she had the emperor massaging her feet and carrying her. When they were close to returning, Li Meng Meng asked Qi Yan to put her down because it was inappropriate for a man and a woman to be so intimate. After Qi Yan returned home, he wondered if Li Meng Meng actually liked him, unaware that she had already developed feelings for him while he was carrying her.
During Empress Dowager's seclusion in her room, she became worried about Qi Yan and decided to check on him. Lu Huan noticed that Empress Dowager was heading their way and quickly had Kong An pretend to be the emperor. However, Kong An insisted that Lu Huan should take the role, so Lu Huan reluctantly disguised himself as the emperor.
As expected, Empress Dowager arrived and called out to Qi Yan, saying she came to see him. Lu Huan promptly played the recording that Li Meng Meng had prepared, and Empress Dowager, after listening to it, didn't suspect anything. However, the last sentence of the recording mentioned a strong wind outside, urging her to hurry back. Empress Dowager looked around and noticed no wind, suspecting that Kong An might be hiding something from her.
Empress Dowager asked why Li Meng Meng wasn't accompanying Qi Yan, and just as she spoke, the sound of a bell rang in the room. The wind also picked up outside, and Kong An suggested that it might be Li Meng Meng's premonition. Empress Dowager decided to leave since Li Meng Meng was with Qi Yan, instructing Kong An to inform her if anything important happened.
Just as Qi Yan and Li Meng Meng were celebrating the nearing completion of their water channel, they were unexpectedly attacked by assassins dressed in black. Fortunately, Qi Su arrived in time and instructed Qi Yan to quickly take Li Meng Meng and leave. However, Qi Su soon got injured.
Qi Yan fought off the black-clad assassins, and when Qi Su regained consciousness, he informed Qi Yan that Cui Wan Er had already told him everything, admitting that he had misunderstood Qi Yan before. Qi Su revealed that once he recovered, he planned to take Cui Wan Er to the frontier, and Qi Yan encouraged them to fly together like a pair of lovebirds.
Unaware of when Li Meng Meng was planning to leave, Qi Yan prepared to confess his feelings to her.
