Episode 20 recap: Zhao Xiao Ren encountered danger.
The Crown Prince claimed that Zhao Xiao Ren was just trying to provoke him in order to control him. The Crown Prince grabbed Zhao Xiao Ren by the neck, saying that all women are the same, just wanting to control others. Zhao Xiao Ren said he had no intention of controlling the Crown Prince. Zhao Xiao Ren broke free from the rope, took out a hidden weapon, and subdued the Crown Prince.
Someone came in and said the Empress Dowager summoned the Crown Prince. Zhao Xiao Ren purposely pretended to be close to the Crown Prince. Li Wei came to see the Emperor, telling him to leave quickly. The Emperor asked Li Wei who had sent him, and offered to promote Li Wei to manage the eunuchs and palace maids. Li Wei said he was sent by Jun Mo and that he was not a eunuch.
Li Wei got a eunuch's robe for the Emperor and told him to change and leave with him. The Empress Dowager said Jun Mo's mother was undemanding, and that was why she was framed by the late Empress Xiao. Jun Mo said the Empress Dowager was not worthy of mentioning his mother, and that the late Empress Xiao got what she deserved. The Empress Dowager wondered if maybe Jun Mo killed the late Empress Xiao when he was only 9 years old.
Jun Mo did not respond. Zhao Xiao Ren came and was very surprised to see the Empress Dowager, as he had thought she was his own mother when he woke up in the mountains. The Empress Dowager acknowledged that she was the one he had seen.
Mo Wei arrived and knelt before the Empress Dowager.
