Episode 22 recap: Tan Jing Tian assisted in the investigation of a cremation case.
The police received a report that some elementary school students had discovered a body on the mountain. Since the case was complex, another police officer, Jin Ling, was also involved. However, Jin Ling was not present at the moment, so Mario was sent to the scene.Tan Jing Tian wanted to let the suspect, Ba Se, go, but the police officer, Cha, could not do that as it would be against the law. Cha decided to truthfully explain the situation to the judge, which frustrated Tan Jing Tian who did not want Ba Se to be sent to prison.
Tan Jing Tian was unhappy about Jin Ling and Cha's roles as police officers. Jin Ling tried to convince Tan Jing Tian to trust Cha, but Tan Jing Tian was very angry.
Tan Jing Tian told Jin Ling that she could choose not to help, but must remain neutral. Before they could finish their conversation, they heard Cha's scream - he had been hit by a rock and Ba Se had escaped. Jin Ling and Tan Jing Tian realized Cha had deliberately let Ba Se go, so they decided to testify that Ba Se had cleverly escaped from Cha.
Tan Jing Tian was amused but also grateful for Cha's actions. After reuniting with the team, they went to the forensic lab in Bangkok to continue investigating the cremation case. That night, Jin Ling and Mario worked overtime, during which Jin Ling discovered that the 15-year-old cremated body had gone missing. Mario said other police stations had found clues about a missing woman, so they had taken the body. Jin Ling didn't think much of it, just hoping the investigation could be completed quickly.
Mario wanted Jin Ling to leave, but she decided to stay and help. Mario looked at Jin Ling thoughtfully and said he would drive her home later.
The case of Su Pan had not been solved for over half a month, and the department head was furious. Cha was under a lot of pressure, and they still did not have a clear investigative direction.
Some officers suggested that the two cremation cases could be combined, but based on the forensic results, the two victims had died differently - one was starved to death, the other was tortured to death. Since Tan Jing Tian returned to the country, Jin Ling had felt that someone was constantly following her - it was the homeless man. However, Jin Ling had not found him. The homeless man was following Jin Ling because she had connections to Mario. The homeless man had previously been rescued by a girl who would bring him food daily, but then the girl disappeared after he discovered she was dating Mario.
When Mario returned home, he was threatened by the homeless man in the parking lot, but managed to escape when a car appeared. Back home, Mario cried, remembering his childhood - the girl the homeless man was looking for had indeed been abused by him.
The next day, Mario drew a portrait of the homeless man and went to the homeless gathering place, but no one recognized him. Finally, he learned from a homeless man that the man was known as "Prince Rama".
Tan Jing Tian continued to help Cha solve the case in Thailand, knowing Cha was under a lot of pressure. At the crime scene, Tan Jing Tian found eggs of the Giganteus beetle, which likes to inhabit burned trees, and estimated the body had been cremated about 6 days ago. He also found adult beetles and pupae, indicating there was likely another body buried 30 meters down, which they later discovered, bound in chains.
