Episode 16 recap: Tan Jing Tian is returning to Thailand, and Jin Ling is entering vacation mode.

Tan Jing Tian had to return, and the team - including Xiao - came to the airport to see him off, feeling very reluctant to let Tan Jing Tian leave. After Tan Jing Tian returned to Thailand, he went to the police station, where the detective sincerely apologized to Tan Jing Tian and even learned Chinese to do so.

Tan Jing Tian accepted the apology, understanding that the detective was just trying to solve the case. On Jin Ling's side, she had to accompany Mario to court to testify for work. To express his gratitude, Mario gave Jin Ling three days off, allowing her to go on vacation with Tan Jing Tian. Jin Ling was very excited and, worried that Mario might change his mind, left without hesitation.

Jin Ling told Tan Jing Tian the good news and asked him to come up with a good vacation spot, but Tan Jing Tian was not familiar with the area. Jin Ling only had one requirement - to leave Bangkok, so that even if Mario changed his mind, she wouldn't be able to return in time.

Tan Jing Tian consulted Cha, but Cha couldn't think of a destination either. Then Tan Jing Tian remembered a place Cha had mentioned before, with many butterflies, which was not far from Tan Jing Tian's hometown. However, the drive from Bangkok would be long, so Tan Jing Tian offered to be the driver to accompany them.

Jin Ling and Tan Jing Tian didn't refuse, as having another person would add to the joy. But after setting off, Jin Ling realized she wasn't enjoying it at all. Out of politeness, Tan Jing Tian sat in the passenger seat so he could chat with Cha, instead of being treated as the driver. Jin Ling sat in the back, watching the two of them chatting and laughing, feeling completely ignored.

During a stop, Jin Ling decided to drive herself. Cha and Tan Jing Tian wanted her to rest, but Jin Ling angrily took the keys and got into the driver's seat, leaving Tan Jing Tian and Cha bewildered as to why she suddenly had this emotional reaction.

As soon as Tan Jing Tian got in the driver's seat, Jin Ling kicked him out, telling him to sit in the back and chat with Cha.

The weather kept getting worse as they were driving, becoming gloomy. Tan Jing Tian and Jin Ling grew increasingly uneasy, so they urged her to rest. After some persuasion, Jin Ling finally regained control of the steering wheel.

Sure enough, heavy rain started pouring down. Later, their car accidentally slid into a ditch, tipping over. Tan Jing Tian lost control and ended up pressing down on Jin Ling, nearly crushing her. After getting out of the car, they saw that with just the three of them, they wouldn't be able to pull the car out. So they decided to go find nearby villagers to help.

They walked for a long time through the tropical rainforest before finally emerging. They came across a pendant shaped like a butterfly and followed it, soon spotting some distant lights. They reached a village and happened upon a family preparing for a wedding the next day. As per local custom, wedding feast guests are welcome, so they joined in the delicious meal, though the hosts were a bit displeased at how much they ate. Tan Jing Tian and Jin Ling gave the hosts all the money in their pockets.

The hosts agreed to help them find people to lift the car, and a sister of the bride came over. She explained the groom seemed to have some mental issues, and the celebratory atmosphere was lacking. Due to the flooded bridge, she asked Tan Jing Tian and Jin Ling to stay and represent the bride's family until the wedding was over, when they could then get help moving the car. Seeing no other option, they agreed to stay.

The more time they spent in the village, the stranger it seemed. There were many of the butterfly-like pendants, and they encountered a woman in a wheelchair covered in scars who warned them to rest early and not wander around the village.
