Episode 20 recap: Lin Mengchen seeks revenge on Ye Xiaosheng.
Lin Mengchen stabbed Ye Xiaosheng for the first time, for the sake of Cao Fang. The second stab was for the entire Lin family. She aimed fiercely at Ye Xiaosheng's chest, intending to deliver a third blow. However, she couldn't bring herself to do it and tearfully said that Ye Xiaosheng not only saved her life but also raised her. By not delivering that third blow, she considered it a repayment of gratitude, and they would no longer owe each other.
Ye Xiaosheng didn't understand why Lin Mengchen had suddenly become like this. It wasn't until she took out that jade pendant that he understood the reason. He opened his mouth to explain, but Lin Mengchen didn't give him a chance and refused to turn back, no matter how he called out to her. Ye Xiaosheng peered through a crack in the window and watched as Lin Mengchen slept restlessly, clutching the wedding dress. He wanted to approach her but didn't dare. He stayed in the corridor all night, until Lin Mengchen left, and only then did he come out from the corner.
