Episode 30 recap: Zhao Xin Tong learned the Yan Ling Stab technique.
Zhao Ling Yan looked at his own back and realized that he had become friends with a monster. He felt a bit guilty, as even his lifetime of accomplishments had been ruined by Zhao Xin Tong. He had unexpectedly developed a fateful connection with a demon master. Zhao Xin Tong explained to Zhao Ling Yan that Hu Zi was not a monster, and he had helped many people. Hu Zi felt that there was no point in wasting time with someone who couldn't understand.
Zhao Ling Yan felt that he couldn't change anything anymore and decided to teach Zhao Xin Tong the Yan Ling Stab technique. Hu Zi thought that Zhao Ling Yan was acting arrogant and showing off, so he couldn't tolerate it and left. Zhao Ling Yan told Zhao Xin Tong that the foundation of marksmanship lies in adaptability, using the power of essence to gather on the spear, enabling them to unleash unprecedented strength.
Hu Zi told Zhao Xin Tong the correct way to utilize essence. Zhao Ling Yan was surprised to hear that Hu Zi knew about this and wondered who had told him. When he found out it was Elder, he realized that the world had changed. Wang Yu Qian was curious about the hardships their ancestors had gone through to overcome their difficulties and what had happened during the great war that led to the current situation.
Xiao Yun Zi felt that it was dangerous to go out alone at night and advised against it. Zhao Xin Tong diligently practiced the Yan Ling Stab technique but couldn't grasp the essence of it. His hands were already injured from the practice. Zhao Ling Yan thought that Zhao Xin Tong was somewhat clever, as he could grasp things quickly. He saw him as the hope of the Zhao family.
Qi Xiao Xuan told everyone to keep their voices down so as not to awaken the monsters. Zhao Ling Yan felt that Zhao Xin Tong had finally mastered the technique. He believed that the reason he had left a strand of his divine power was to meet the younger generation.
Zhao Xin Tong felt sad about the departure of their ancestors. Zhao Xin Tong and Hu Zi finally went out, and Hu Zi pleaded with Zhao Xin Tong not to sleep and to stay awake. He also confessed that the night before, he wanted to tell her that he liked her. After this ordeal was over, he wanted to open a restaurant in a small village and watch her practice martial arts every day.
Xiao Yun Zi felt that they were going in circles and couldn't seem to leave this place. It was as if they were trapped on a small island. Mo Ling Zhi noticed that there was a hollow area ahead, and if they continued forward recklessly, it would collapse. The group suggested taking a detour, but Mo Ling Zhi believed that it wouldn't work. Time was limited, and they needed to press on.
Xiāo Luó Wěn took out the unique treasure of the Jù Lún Kingdom for detection, and the group temporarily decided to rely on the mountain wall for travel. Wang Yu Qian and the others discovered Hu Zi and Zhao Xin Tong, and Yī Méi used magic to transform the scenery, trying to attract them. Qí Xiǎo Xuān found Mò Líng Zhī, and Hu Zi and Zhao Xin Tong were taken away for treatment. Qí Xiǎo Xuān realized that they had arrived at the Yōu Tán Valley. Wú Lì Dān felt partly responsible for the Commander's current injuries and believed they should have kept the Commander here.
Mò Gū Zǐ told Qí Xiǎo Xuān that the essence power within Zhao Xin Tong and Hu Zi had greatly increased. Qí Xiǎo Xuān felt heartbroken for them and wondered what they had experienced. Suddenly, a Shān Chá flower appeared and attacked them.
Mò Líng Zhī knew that this was the work of Yī Méi, and everyone found these Shān Chá flowers to be extremely eerie. Qí Xiǎo Xuān realized that they were surrounded by these Shān Chá flowers. Mò Gū Zǐ told everyone that these flowers were enchanting flowers. Yī Méi appeared and provoked Mò Gū Zǐ repeatedly. Qí Xiǎo Xuān advised Mò Gū Zǐ not to act impulsively.
Yī Méi reminisced about how their master used to love Shān Chá flowers and talked to their master, saying that they had brought back their favorite Shān Chá flowers. Their expression revealed a disturbing sensation. Mò Líng Zhī was very worried that the Shān Chá flowers had already spread and blocked their path to the Blood-Red Waterfall. The formation was expanding.
They were trapped, and the white Shān Chá flowers suddenly turned red and caused people to enter a dreamlike state. Qí Xiǎo Xuān told everyone that they had already seen Yī Méi. Mò Gū Zǐ warned that this formation was very dangerous and suggested temporarily sealing their sense of smell and taste with silver needles to prevent them from being affected.
Qí Xiǎo Xuān wanted to find Yán Rán and have a peaceful conversation, as the grievances between them were caused by themselves. Mò Líng Zhī set up a barrier to hold on until Qí Xiǎo Xuān returned. However, at this moment, the barrier broke, and some people had already fainted on the ground.
I personally really liked this drama. Although the ending was somewhat regretful, the early portrayal was well done, and the characters were well-developed. I particularly enjoyed Xintong; I liked the feeling of a female lead who grows step by step to become the commander of the entire army.
The ending said the story isn't over yet, so I hope the director can make a sequel, bringing back the other two members of the four-person group and giving them a fulfilling conclusion.
It would also provide us, the audience, with a satisfying ending, without any lingering regrets.
