Episode 4 recap: Yu Jian took a leave of absence to accompany Xia Guo to Shanghai.

Xia Guo revealed the truth to Yu Jian, who didn't hesitate at all and brought Xia Guo home. However, Yu Jian's mother was at home, so he could only secretly let Xia Guo stay overnight. Xia Guo had never stayed at his house before, so tonight he had to endure and the next day he would clean up his sister's room for Xia Guo to stay in.

Unexpectedly, early the next morning, Xia Guo was still caught by Yu Jian's mother. Xia Guo lied and said she had forgotten her keys, but Yu Jian's mother was still curious and went to her son's room where she found Xia Guo's hair. Later, Xia Guo decided to rent Yu Jian's sister Yan Yan's room. Yu Jian's father and Yu Jian treated Xia Guo as their own child, so she moved in. However, Yu Jian's mother felt it was inappropriate since they were not married yet and now they were living under the same roof. It was inevitable that there would be gossip among the neighbors.

But when she heard that Xia Guo was going to pay rent, she agreed, but the money had to come from Wang Yan since she was the one who rented out her daughter's room. Xia Guo moved into Yu Jian's house, and they lived happily as a family. Xia Guo felt that she could live the life she longed for even in a small town, with her loved ones by her side. This kind of life was what many people yearned for.

In the parallel timeline, Xia Guo was in Shanghai, and her life was gradually improving. At the company's annual meeting, she became the outstanding employee of the year and received a bonus. Xia Guo was very happy, and her colleagues and Manager Xue were also happy for her. Xia Guo felt that she was getting closer to the life she had hoped for.

Xia Guo greatly respected Nanjie and received high praise from the company's leaders. Some of Xia Guo's actions also led Nanjie to misunderstand. Nanjie felt that Xia Guo was getting close to Manager Xue and that Xia Guo even wanted to participate in offline sales. Nanjie believed that Xia Guo belonged to her and should be under her control. Otherwise, if she could bring Xia Guo to Shanghai, she could also make her return to Leshan.

Manager Xue noticed Nanjie criticizing Xia Guo. After Nanjie left, he approached Xia Guo and told her to do what she believed was right and not waste time in areas where she wasn't skilled.

After the annual meeting, Xia Guo returned home and saw Yu Jian at the doorstep. Since their last argument, they hadn't contacted each other for a long time, so Yu Jian came to see her in person and apologize.

Once they met, a hug dissolved the previous misunderstanding. Yu Jian sensed the change in Xia Guo, and since they were going to the hospital together tomorrow, Yu Jian could accompany Xia Guo these days. Xia Guo also decided that whenever they had time, she would go to Shanghai with him. Xia Guo won a mobile phone in the lucky draw at the annual meeting and gave it to Yu Jian as a New Year gift. Yu Jian also gave Xia Guo a gift, a ring, and promised to replace it with a bigger ring in the future.

Both of them envisioned a beautiful life together in the future. Once Yu Jian settled things at home, he would be able to go to Shanghai to be with Xia Guo. Xia Guo eagerly awaited that day. Yu Jian, during his stay in Shanghai, felt that the cost of living was indeed high and the sense of happiness was not as high as in his hometown.

But with Xia Guo's company, as long as they were together, even if life was a bit harder now, he felt happy. However, people from small towns still didn't understand the rules of the big city. While waiting for a table at a restaurant, Yu Jian didn't know about the restaurant's membership system and mistakenly thought Manager Xue and Emma were cutting in line, almost leading to a confrontation. Fortunately, Xia Guo arrived in time, introduced them, and took Yu Jian to another restaurant.

Yu Jian felt embarrassed for causing Xia Guo to lose face, but Xia Guo comforted him and assured him that she didn't mind. Yu Jian felt that Xia Guo had changed, and he wasn't accustomed to the pace of life here. Even having a meal required a long wait, and it seemed that people here were divided into clear hierarchies.
