Episode 13 recap: Xia Guo, General Manager Xue, has made a comeback.
Li Qiu Man heard from some colleagues in the marketing department at the company that they were planning to have a dinner gathering. She overheard them mentioning they were going to have Japanese cuisine and Xia Guo's favorite, Sanchuan. So she deduced which restaurant they were referring to. In the evening, she intentionally brought rice cakes to that restaurant to celebrate her birthday. When she arrived, everyone was very enthusiastic and invited Li Qiu Man and the rice cakes to join them for the meal. Seeing how happy the rice cakes were, Li Qiu Man agreed. Later, General Manager Xue arrived with a birthday cake. When the rice cakes called him "Dad" and hugged him, everyone was surprised.
General Manager Xue also felt somewhat unsure of how to handle the situation because Xia Guo was present. Seeing this, Xia Guo wanted to leave, but everyone persuaded her to stay. During the meal, Li Qiu Man deliberately asked Xia Guo to take a video of the three of them, as a happy moment for their family, in front of so many people. Xia Guo couldn't easily refuse and reluctantly recorded the happy moment of their family.
At this moment, Xia Guo's colleagues took advantage of the opportunity to provoke her. Xia Guo, who was already frustrated and looking for an outlet, directly slapped one of her colleagues and then ran away. General Manager Xue looked at Xia Guo running away, feeling very heartbroken, but he couldn't chase after her. Xia Guo went to the bar where Ai Lun works and drowned her sorrows in alcohol. Later, General Manager Xue came to find her, but Xia Guo didn't want to talk to him at all.
The next day, Xia Guo went to work at the company. Several female colleagues praised her for her actions the previous day. They all knew that the male colleague had no boundaries and took advantage of female colleagues. Xia Guo's punch was seen as standing up for everyone. The dispute between Xia Guo and Li Qiu Man over their respective project plans came to a temporary conclusion with the end of the meeting. Xia Guo's plan leaned towards localization and youthfulness, while Li Qiu Man's plan leaned towards internationalization and elitism. In the end, the upper management voted, and Xia Guo's plan "Chunxiao" won by a large margin.
Li Qiu Man didn't expect that despite her careful preparations and collaboration with top European designers, she would lose to a young professional. She couldn't hide her disappointment. Li Qiu Man believed that General Manager Xue deliberately made things difficult for her. After the meeting, she went to his office to find him and even questioned him about whom he voted for. He also asked her not to use the rice cakes anymore, as he was now in love with Xia Guo.
Xia Guo went to find General Manager Xue and happened to overhear this conversation outside the door. She stood frozen in her tracks. After work, both Xia Guo and General Manager Xue coincidentally chose the same supermarket. They had their meeting there, and the two of them crossed paths in the supermarket. This time, General Manager Xue took the initiative to embrace and kiss Xia Guo, and she didn't push him away. And so, the two of them reconciled. Xia Guo didn't know what the future held, but she knew that in that moment, in General Manager Xue's embrace, she was happy.
In an alternate timeline, Xia Guo was also surrounded by happiness. Her belly grew bigger and bigger, and the debts at home were paid off. Her parents-in-law and Yu Jian all loved her deeply. Yu Jian's sister, Yu Yan, suddenly returned from the United States, and she was already pregnant. However, she wasn't happy, especially when she saw how well everyone treated Xia Guo. It made her even more upset.
Yu Yan didn't want her family to know about her pregnancy, but her morning sickness was discovered by her mother. She had no choice but to reveal the secret. She was unhappy about being pregnant because An De Lu wanted a divorce. However, she didn't want to separate. An De Lu told Yu Yan not to attempt to hold him back with a child. He said that as long as Yu Yan agreed to the divorce, they could renegotiate the division of assets.
