Episode 6 recap: Hong Qi Gong taught his martial arts skills to Guo Jing.

During a cuju (ancient Chinese football) match, Guo Jing accidentally broke the ball, and Hong Qi Gong thought he had won the game. However, Huang Rong refused to admit defeat, and instead proposed a contest to see who could stay awake the longest. Ouyang Ke found Huang Rong and Guo Jing in the forest, and insisted on taking Huang Rong back to Bai Tu Mountain, wanting to kill Guo Jing.

When the cuju match resumed, the inexperienced Guo Jing kicked the ball and broke it again. Hong Qi Gong believed Guo Jing had lost, but Huang Rong refused to concede. Hong Qi Gong then suggested they have a sleeping contest instead.

Huang Rong asked Guo Jing to continue the match with Hong Qi Gong, promising she had a way to make Hong Qi Gong lose. During the sleeping contest, Huang Rong cooked a delicious chicken dish, whose aroma was irresistible to Hong Qi Gong. Liang Ziweng also arrived, seeking to drink Guo Jing's blood after he had consumed snake blood.

Guo Jing and Huang Rong were no match for Liang Ziweng, but at the critical moment, Hong Qi Gong intervened and saved them. Recognizing Hong Qi Gong, Liang Ziweng begged for mercy, which the kindhearted Guo Jing granted.

The aroma of Huang Rong's chicken dish completely captivated Hong Qi Gong, causing him to concede the contest. Huang Rong had recognized Hong Qi Gong's identity earlier, and used her culinary skills to persuade him to teach her and Guo Jing some martial arts. However, Hong Qi Gong refused Huang Rong's request to take Guo Jing as his disciple, though he did agree to teach them some techniques.

The next day, Huang Rong prepared an even more delicious feast, further impressing Hong Qi Gong with her culinary skills and martial arts knowledge. This led Hong Qi Gong to personally teach Guo Jing the "Bending Dragon" technique, despite still declining to formally take him as a disciple. Huang Rong continued to win over Hong Qi Gong with her cooking, eventually persuading him to teach her a set of martial arts as well.

Ouyang Ke found Huang Rong and Guo Jing, and Ouyang Ke was unwilling to give up on having Huang Rong follow him back to the White Camel Mountain. He tried to kill Guo Jing, but unexpectedly Guo Jing, who had learned the Eighteen Dragon-Subduing Palms, fought back with him. After repeated battles, Ouyang Ke injured Guo Jing, intending to take Huang Rong away, but Hong Qigong suddenly appeared.

Ouyang Ke released poisonous snakes to attack Hong Qigong, but Hong Qigong directly killed these snakes. Out of respect for Ouyang Feng, Hong Qigong spared Ouyang Ke, but Ouyang Ke was unwilling to leave.

Huang Rong prepared a feast of all snakes to reward Hong Qigong. Hong Qigong, knowing that Ouyang Ke had been troubling Guo Jing and Huang Rong, agreed to continue teaching Guo Jing the first fifteen moves of the Eighteen Dragon-Subduing Palms. Under Hong Qigong's careful guidance, Guo Jing's martial arts progressed rapidly.

After Bao Xiruo's tragic death, Wanyan Honglie returned to the manor's courtyard. He had been in grief for eighteen years but was unable to gain Bao Xiruo's love. Yang Kang also returned to the courtyard, intending to bid farewell to Wanyan Honglie. He wanted to return to his mother's hometown of Niujia Village in Hangzhou to atone.

Wanyan Honglie did not want his son to leave. Although Yang Kang was not his biological son, he had always treated him as his own. As long as Yang Kang was willing, he could continue using the Wanyan surname, and even inherit the throne after Wanyan Honglie's death. Yang Kang told Mu Nianci that he could not go back to Niujia Village with her for now, as he wanted to stay by Wanyan Honglie's side. Wanyan Honglie was coveting Yue Fei's "The Militarist's Legacy" and hoped to preserve it for the Song dynasty, as well as change the perception of those who looked down on them.

Mu Nianci ultimately chose to trust Yang Kang and let him remain by Wanyan Honglie's side.
