Episode 1 recap: Pei Pei and Shan Dan Dan's first encounter was marked by constant conflict.

Pei Pei, the young master of Gui Pei Pavilion, the famous jade shop in Yuncui City, deliberately staged a frightening little incident, wanting to scare away the impending visitor. But to his surprise, when he recognized the person in front of him, both of them let out a shrill scream. The visitor was none other than the street-smart jade enthusiast Shan Dan Dan (played by Xu Lu), who had also come here after seeing the recruitment notice on her own doorstep, only to run into the young master with whom she had a history.

Going back to a day earlier in Yuncui City's First Art Institute, Shan Dan Dan was pretending to be an artist and selling jade to customers, when she encountered the visiting Pei Pei. Pei Pei had a discerning eye and could tell the quality of the jade just by a glance. At that moment, he saw Shan Dan Dan's fraudulent behavior and wanted to catch her and punish her for deceiving people. However, Pei Pei's plan was foiled when the head steward of the Pei family, Ms. Pei Qin, arrived with people to apprehend Pei Pei.

Fearing being caught by his mother, Pei Pei urgently wanted to flee, but Shan Dan Dan, sensing his panic, refused to let him leave, grabbing his hand. Helpless, Pei Pei was forced to buy all the jade items from Shan Dan Dan's hands before he could be released. Ms. Pei Qin, who had witnessed the entire incident, couldn't help but find it amusing, as she saw her own youthful self in Shan Dan Dan.

Back at home, Pei Pei's maid Cui Liu was about to fawn over him, but was caught by Ms. Pei Qin, who was displeased with the maid's frivolous behavior and planned to find a new one for Pei Pei. Ms. Pei Qin hoped that Pei Pei would continue to participate in the jade competition, but he refused, as he still couldn't face the incident from a few years ago, much to Ms. Pei Qin's dismay.

Shan Dan Dan, after selling the jade, came to Su Yu Xuan and met the shop manager and her sister Shan Shuang Shuang, who gave all her earnings to her younger sister, hoping she could live happily. Shan Dan Dan thought the working conditions were good here and wanted to work here, but was rejected by her sister, who believed this place was a den of tigers and dragons, and she couldn't bear to let her sister suffer here as well.

Unaware of the reasons, Shan Dan Dan thought her sister just didn't want her to work hard here, so she secretly asked the shop manager to help her get a job, hoping he could introduce her. The manager, knowing that the head of Su Yu Xuan, Su Yu, would be attending an auction, thought that if Shan Dan Dan could impress him there, she might have a chance.

That night, both Su Yu and Pei Pei attended the auction. Pei Pei looked down on the items from Su Yu Xuan, believing them to be inferior quality jade that disrupted the market. To his surprise, he encountered Shan Dan Dan, who had also come to the auction with the shop manager.

Determined to outdo each other, Pei Pei would bid on and acquire any item that Shan Dan Dan tried to purchase.

When a jade pendant was brought out again, Shan Dan Dan, who was observing it up close, immediately noticed that the quality was not very good. In contrast, Pei Pei, who was on the second floor and required a telescope to see clearly, made an incorrect assessment. Shan Dan Dan deliberately used the copper mirror in her hand to dazzle the light, disrupting the normal luster and causing Pei Pei to misjudge the value. Shan Dan Dan then intentionally called out a high price, leading Pei Pei to purchase the item for 600 taels, even though he later realized the item was not of good quality.

When Pei Pei realized that Shan Dan Dan had tampered with the item, he became furious and tried to chase her. However, Shan Dan Dan took advantage of the commotion to escape. As soon as she got out, Shan Dan Dan encountered Su Yu, hoping to get a job, but Su Yu believed Shan Dan Dan was an unqualified individual who had never worked as a jade appraiser.

As Shan Dan Dan was leaving dejectedly, she encountered the pursuing Pei Pei. Before Pei Pei could confront her, Shan Dan Dan turned the tables and scolded him, causing Pei Pei to flee in fear. Mistress Pei Qin witnessed this scene and couldn't help but smile, intentionally sending her maid Li Cuixiang to post a recruitment notice at Shan Dan Dan's door, with demanding requirements.

Shan Dan Dan brought the recruitment notice to the manor, where she first encountered Cui Liu, who arrogantly believed she would become a maid and paid no attention to Shan Dan Dan. Li Guixiang then timely appeared and brought Shan Dan Dan to meet Mistress Pei Qin.

Shan Dan Dan's true intention was not to become a maid, but to become a jade appraiser. Although Mistress Pei Qin ultimately assigned her the position of a maid, she emphasized that this was a special maid role. Determined to succeed as a jade appraiser, Shan Dan Dan decided to endure the situation and went to Pei Pei's room as instructed.

Pei Pei was surprised to see Shan Dan Dan, and Shan Dan Dan even slapped him. Shan Dan Dan loudly declared that she was the new maid, and Pei Pei directly revealed his identity as the young master, intending to take Shan Dan Dan away.
