Episode 12 recap: Song Shi Jie took on a new case again.
Song Shi Jie was curious why Xue Li, who was so beautiful, was selling goods at a roadside stall. Xue Li sadly told Song Shi Jie that it was because of the Wang family. Without hesitation, Song Shi Jie thought it had something to do with that jerk, Wang Hao Xin. Ling Long saw Xue Li slap Song Shi Jie and felt a sense of satisfaction.
To save face, Song Shi Jie approached an older lady on the street to inquire about the situation. The lady believed that Wang Hao Xin was stingy and mean, and even a murderer. Ling Long felt that the matter was complicated and didn't want Song Shi Jie to get involved. However, Song Shi Jie ignored Ling Long's wishes and decided to continue investigating the case.
Both Song Shi Jie and Song A Jiu were furious that Wang Hao Xin turned out to be such a ruthless person. While searching for clues in the surroundings, Song A Jiu accidentally stepped on bird droppings. Angered, Song A Jiu struck the bird down, and to their surprise, Song Shi Jie discovered a letter on the bird.
From the documents at the department, Song Shi Jie found a connection between Wang Hao Xin and Tan Zheng Tang. Song Shi Jie analyzed the findings to Ling Long and explained that Tan Zheng Tang and Wang Hao Xin had never met in person, only communicating through letters. Ling Long thought this was just right and a good opportunity to put an end to Song Shi Jie's investigation. Xue Li came to see Song Shi Jie and gave him a doll as a gift. Ling Long acted as a messenger between the two. Xue Li wanted Song Shi Jie to help her in a lawsuit so she wouldn't have to continue selling goods to make a living.
Song Shi Jie believed that he had to show off his abilities in the face of beauty and immediately agreed to take on Xue Li's case, which made Ling Long very angry. The two of them personally visited Song Shi Jie's house. At that moment, Song Shi Jie had just returned home, feeling exhausted, but his efforts were not in vain. When he heard someone knocking on the door, thinking it was Xie Jie, he was captured by Wang Hao Xin's men. Song Shi Jie pretended to be acquainted with Tan Zheng Tang to deceive Wang Hao Xin.

Meanwhile, Ling Long rushed to Tan Zheng Tang with the first letter, intending to sow discord between Wang Hao Xin and Tan Zheng Tang, causing internal conflicts.
