Episode 20 recap: Yin Ji and Xie Yun's Wedding
Yin Ji watched as Xie Yun, who had already changed into her wedding attire, walked out. Xie Yun and Yin Ji exchanged a glance, and Yin Ji took Xie Yun's hand as they were finally able to be together officially. Yin Ji's gaze never left Xie Yun as he led her by the hand, step by step, towards the Sutra Repository. Xie Yun's purpose was also to come to the Sutra Repository, and her brother was down below watching his sister's wedding.
Xie Yun and Yin Ji had arrived at the city tower, where they greeted the citizens of Baiyu Village, and then performed the wedding ceremony. The old lady took a brief look at Yin Ji and Xie Yun before leaving with her maid. Xie Yun secretly thought that the time had finally come to prove the innocence of the Xie family.
At that moment, a group of soldiers, who had been lying in ambush, released flaming arrows towards the tower. Yin Ji woke up dazed and started searching for Xie Yun, with Qi Yan protecting Yin Ji. Qi Yan told Yin Ji that Yin Qi had staged a rebellion and urged Yin Ji to quickly leave. Yin Ji was still trying to find Xie Yun, and upon learning that Xie Yun was in the Sutra Repository, rushed there. Xie Yun had obtained the letter that proved the innocence of the Xie family.
Xie Yun held a dagger towards Yin Ji. Yin Ji suddenly realized that Xie Yun had never actually lost her memory, and that everything had been an act. Xie Yun was extremely emotional, as the Xie family had protected Yin Ji and helped her ascend to the position of the city lord, but Yin Ji had in turn plotted to eliminate the Xie family.
Yin Ji wanted to explain herself, but at that moment, arrows were shot into the Sutra Repository, and the entire building was quickly engulfed in flames.
