Episode 24 recap: Cloud Stairs performed a solo piece for her mother.
On the way, Yu Hai was stuck in traffic and overheard a phone conversation between Xu Meng An and her husband. Envying Xu Meng An's happy marriage, Yu Hai asked her for tips on having a blissful marriage. Hearing Xu Meng An's insightful comments, Yu Hai lamented that he did not cherish his time with Chen Wan Zhen and failed to fully embrace fatherhood, leaving him with regrets.

Li Jing, the privileged eldest daughter, personally went to the countryside to catch two chickens - one for Xu Meng An's mother and one for Xu Meng An's family - in order to make a nourishing soup for her siblings.
When Li Lin brought Xu Meng An and Cloud Stairs home, he tried to appease Li Jing by claiming they were celebrating Xu Meng An's award as a model worker. However, Li Jing refused to let them eat the fried chicken, insisting on the healthier homemade chicken soup. This led to a minor conflict between Li Lin and Li Jing, which Xu Meng An had to quickly resolve.
After dinner, Xu Meng An quietly went to her daughter's room and found Cloud Stairs expressing her disappointment at not being able to eat the fried chicken. Li Lin, who had also not eaten enough due to his argument with his sister, was secretly sharing snacks with Cloud Stairs, and Xu Meng An joined in as well.
Li Jing overheard the conversation between her younger brother and sister-in-law outside the door, and she realized that perhaps she had been a bit too controlling at times. When Li Lin and Xu Meng An were in the bedroom thinking about dinner, they realized that having fried chicken would not be appropriate. In order to prevent his sister from eating leftover food, he quietly prepared to throw away the fried chicken.
As Li Lin was about to talk to his older sister in the kitchen, he had just heard Xu Meng An mention Yu Hai's infidelity, and he also knew that his brother-in-law had not called his sister for several days. Unable to resist, he reminded his sister to go back and check on things, touching a sore spot. This enraged Li Jing, and she directly chased Li Lin out.
