Episode 2 recap: Zhu Zhe asked He Min Hong to move out.
After He's mother entered the room and saw the messy living room, she started helping He Min Hong pack up while asking her if she had made up her mind about having an abortion. He Min Hong appeared hesitant and expressed a desire to meet Qi Mu. However, her mother strongly objected to it. He's mother understood her daughter's temperament very well and believed that if she met Qi Mu, she would likely betray Ye Zhen Zhen, leading to retaliation from Qi Mu.
Ye Zhen Zhen overheard the conversation between the mother and daughter outside the door and already had an idea of what was going on. Zhu Zhe advised Ye Zhen Zhen to take care of her own affairs first, but she was worried that He Min Hong might expose Ye Zhen Zhen. So, she proactively explained the whole situation to He's mother, including Qi Mu's violent threats during the Spring Festival, how he framed Zhu Zhe, and why Ye Zhen Zhen chose to bear the burden alone.
After He's mother gained a deeper understanding of the turmoil caused by He Min Hong's actions, she felt deeply ashamed and grateful for the selfless help from Ye Zhen Zhen and others. Zhu Zhe took this opportunity to suggest that they turn their gratitude into action and asked He Min Hong to move out of Apartment 2202. He's mother agreed on the spot.
However, He Min Hong still didn't think she was in the wrong and instead complained that Zhu Zhe had changed. He's mother couldn't understand He Min Hong's thinking and was disappointed with her behavior. But He Min Hong still felt wronged and cried about her own experiences, vowing to confront Qi Mu and get a clear explanation even if it meant risking her life.
That evening, Zhu Zhe brought food and daily necessities to visit her younger brother, Zhu Min Jie. While waiting for Zhu Min Jie to come back, she chatted with a neighbor girl. When Zhu Min Jie saw Zhu Zhe, he threw the things on the ground and cursed at her, blaming her for no longer supporting him and causing him to resort to delivering takeout.
Faced with Zhu Min Jie's harsh words, Zhu Zhe regretted supporting her siblings' education and immediately exposed the true nature of the two ungrateful siblings before leaving. At the same time, Fang Zhi Heng flew back to her hometown overnight. When she arrived at the hospital, her mother had passed away due to another severe bleeding episode that couldn't be saved. Fang's father sat alone outside the operating room, and when he saw Fang Zhi Heng, tears welled up in his eyes uncontrollably.
Early in the morning, Mr. He arrived at 2202, and the three of them discussed things in the room. They also knocked on Zhu Zhe's door, but Zhu Zhe deliberately put on headphones and didn't respond until Mrs. He called her on the phone. Mrs. He mentioned that she had an appointment with Qi Mu today, which Zhu Zhe found ironic. She had thought that the He family would understand her difficulties, but instead they knowingly put her in trouble and insisted on seeking justice for their daughter.
Faced with the indifference, misinterpretation, and manipulation from the He family, Zhu Zhe repeatedly questioned them, but they failed to realize their own issues. Zhu Zhe didn't want to say anything more and ordered them to move out of 2202 immediately. He Min Hong was unwilling to leave, but Mr. and Mrs. He felt ashamed to stay any longer, so they forcibly packed up and left.
The He family arranged to meet Qi Mu near the residential area. Qi Mu was firm in his attitude, believing that the He family's interference caused their relationship to break down. He also complained that He Min Hong drove away the nanny and left without saying goodbye, leaving their mother without anyone to take care of her. As soon as He Min Hong saw Qi Mu, she became flustered and immediately implicated Zhu Zhe, admitting that it was Zhu Zhe who had been investigating Qi Mu's marriage behind the scenes.
Zhu Zhe happened to pass by and overheard the conversation. Once again, she felt disappointed in He Min Hong. In front of the He family, she confronted Qi Mu head-on and warned him that if he wanted to mess with her, she would make him lose his job first. Qi Mu was intimidated by Zhu Zhe's demeanor and considering Ye Zhen Zhen's influential background, he could only bow his head and surrender.
After Zhu Zhe left, Qi Mu took the initiative to suggest breaking up but wanted He Min Hong to leave the child for him to raise. He Min Hong wanted to salvage the relationship and explained that she was taken away by her parents against her will and pleaded desperately with Qi Mu. Unable to bear seeing his daughter being mistreated, Mr. He, in a fit of anger, hit Qi Mu, causing the situation to descend into chaos.
Qi Mu took out his phone to call the police, which frightened He Min Hong, who knelt down and begged him to spare her father. This action further enraged Mr. He, and he once again threw a punch at Qi Mu.
