Plot Synopsis
Ding Zhaozhao, the female chief constable of the Six Fan Gate, was entangled in a mysterious fox demon murder case when she first took office. The victim was found dead in a sealed room, with their tongue ripped out and turned into a clay figurine. Subsequent cases became even more bizarre. A scholar from the academy, whose body burst into flames in front of everyone, was burned to death. The head of a convoy sealed a box and sent it hundreds of miles away, only to find a frozen corpse inside when the box was opened. A low-ranking official was found hanging from an iron tree in aprison cell, and a family of kitchen maids died in apool of blood. Every one of themperished under thepunishment of the eighteen hells. Ding Zhaozhao unraveled the mysteries one by one and discovered that they were all related to a charity hall fire ten years ago. What shocked her even more was that her own father was involved, and the mastermind behind this intricate drama turned out to be Chu Bufan, the thief who had been investigating the case alongside her all along.

At first, I was also puzzled about the lack of content related to the Six Gates. In reality, the drama focuses on the character growth of Ding Zhaozhao as a short series. I wondered why they didn't delve into the details of the cases solved by the Six Gates, led by Xiao Yuandao.
But as you continue watching with this question in mind, you'll eventually understand the reason.
