Episode 33 recap: Deadbeat father causes a scene with a knife at Grandma's house.

Tao Shu Na had been accompanying Meng Wan Qing to various medical examinations. Meng Wan Qing tried various excuses to make her leave, but without success. When Tao Da Lei received the examination report, he found that he had a bit of pancreatitis, but he insisted that he had pancreatic cancer, so he called Tao Shu Na over.

Tao Shu Na came to look at Tao Da Lei's report and explained that he didn't have any major issues and just needed to take medication and have regular check-ups. She then went to get Tao Da Lei's medication. While Tao Shu Na was getting the medication, Tao Da Lei overheard others discussing the issue of not detecting pancreatic cancer early and how it had become incurable in the end. This further convinced him that he had cancer.

Tao Da Lei suspected that he had cancer, and the more he thought about it, the more he felt the symptoms were similar. He started feeling increasingly unwell, so he argued with the doctors about whether he had been misdiagnosed, but the doctors didn't want to entertain him. When Tao Shu Na returned with the medication, Tao Da Lei continued to cause a scene with her. Tao Shu Na could only take Tao Da Lei away for the time being, but unexpectedly, they encountered Meng Wan Qing, who was about to leave.

Meng Wan Qing was worried that Tao Shu Na would find out about her condition, so she asked Zheng Bin to create a fake medical report and send it to the hospital. Meng Wan Qing went downstairs to retrieve the report, while Zheng Bin was concerned that Tao Shu Na might go to the doctor after seeing the report, so he persuaded Meng Wan Qing to be honest with Tao Shu Na.

Meng Wan Qing initially wanted to keep it a secret, but when Tao Da Lei saw her being intimate with Zheng Bin, he pretended to be so angry that he fainted and was taken in for examination by Tao Shu Na. The doctors found that all of Tao Da Lei's indicators were normal, so Tao Shu Na couldn't say much. However, Tao Da Lei continued to complain of being sick, which made Meng Wan Qing particularly angry.

Unable to explain clearly, Meng Wan Qing went home directly, and Tao Shu Na had no choice but to go back as well. Left unattended, Tao Da Lei continued to cause trouble at home and eventually pretended to feel unwell, forcing Meng Wan Qing to cook for him.

Seeing Tao Da Lei's behavior, Tao Shu Na wanted to cook for him instead, but Meng Wan Qing had no choice and ended up cooking herself. Tao Shu Na tried to persuade Tao Da Lei to stop causing trouble and to show some concern for Meng Wan Qing, considering the difficulties the Meng family was currently facing. Unable to persuade Tao Da Lei, Tao Shu Na went to ask about Meng Wan Qing and Zheng Bin's situation, feeling that they were hiding something, but Meng Wan Qing insisted that there was nothing. Tao Shu Na kept asking, and Meng Wan Qing couldn't take it anymore. In a fit of anger, she told Tao Shu Na to go back to Shanghai.

Tao Shu Na was furious because of Meng Wan Qing's outburst, so she decided she wouldn't get involved in Meng Wan Qing's affairs anymore and left with her luggage. Qiao Hai Yun's house was sold, and the real estate agent came to have Qiao Hai Yun sign the documents. Qiao Hai Yun asked the agent if they had found a new tenant for the upstairs unit.

The agent expressed difficulty because Li Cheng Zhi had locked the door, making it impossible for them to show the property. When Qiao Hai Yun learned that Li Cheng Zhi had locked the door, she agreed to have someone force it open, and only then did the agent manage to show the property.

Qiao Hai Yun wanted to sell the house at a low price, and there were many people coming to view it. Li Cheng Zhi realized that he had nowhere to live and went downstairs with a knife to cause a scene.

Li Yi Jin refused to open the door for Li Cheng Zhi, so he started smashing the door with the knife and kept cursing the Meng family, believing that they owed him. Meng Ming Wei was furious when she heard what Li Cheng Zhi said. She directly pushed the door open and revealed everything about how she had earned money to support the family, cooked and did laundry for Li Cheng Zhi, and even handed over her salary card for him to use. She made it clear that Li Cheng Zhi relied on the Meng family for food and shelter and had no right to blame them.

Li Cheng Zhi refused to accept what Meng Ming Wei said and tried to attack someone with the knife. Li Yi Jin reminded him to put down the knife to avoid spending the rest of his life in prison. After being awakened by Li Yi Jin, Li Cheng Zhi sat on the ground and cried in sadness, feeling aggrieved for not having a home or a family.

After Li Cheng Zhi caused the disturbance, Li Yi Jin approached him calmly to have a talk and asked him to stop causing trouble. Li Yi Jin rented a place for Li Cheng Zhi to live in and asked him to move out of the house. However, Li Cheng Zhi continued to curse and blame Qiao Hai Yun.

Li Cheng Zhi explained that being the son-in-law of the Meng family was not easy, but Li Yi Jin told him that now they were the only close relatives he had left because no one from Li Cheng Zhi's hometown cared about him. After being told this by Li Yi Jin, Li Cheng Zhi stopped complaining and agreed to move into the place arranged by Li Yi Jin.

Li Yi Jin made arrangements for Li Cheng Zhi's move and told him to call her if he needed anything or even if he didn't. Li Cheng Zhi finally calmed down and told Li Yi Jin that he didn't want to hurt her and that he wouldn't drink alcohol anymore. The unpleasantness between father and son had finally come to an end.

Guo Xiaowen called Meng Yi An to withdraw the lawsuit, but Meng Yi An insisted on receiving the payment before withdrawing the lawsuit, leading to a heated argument. Qiao Hai Yun noticed that Meng Yi An had something on her mind, so Meng Yi An confided in her about her divorce from Qiu Xia and assured Qiao Hai Yun that she didn't need to worry about her.

After Meng Yi An helped Meng Ming Wei with the house purchase, she invited Tao Shu Na to return to Shanghai together, but Tao Shu Na had already arrived in Shanghai. Upon learning that Tao Shu Na had gone to Shanghai, Meng Ming Wei became worried that something had happened at Meng Wan Qing's home, so she called Meng Wan Qing. However, Meng Wan Qing lied and claimed that she was already on a business trip.

Meng Ming Wei felt that something was amiss with Meng Wan Qing and her mother, so she went home to see what was going on. Tao Da Lei kept complaining to Meng Ming Wei and criticizing Meng Wan Qing. Meng Ming Wei tried to speak up for Meng Wan Qing and asked Tao Da Lei to be more considerate, but Tao Da Lei became even more agitated. He even wanted to cause trouble for Qiao Hai Yun, which made Meng Ming Wei extremely worried.

Meng Ming Wei threatened Tao Da Lei that if he made Qiao Hai Yun sick with anger, she wouldn't be polite to him anymore. After scolding Tao Da Lei, Meng Ming Wei called Meng Wan Qing to persuade her to keep her distance from Zheng Bin, but unexpectedly, it angered Meng Wan Qing.

Li Yi Jin was concerned about Meng Ming Wei's health and arranged a medical check-up for her. She asked Meng Ming Wei to go to the hospital with her tomorrow, while Meng Wan Qing happened to have surgery scheduled for tomorrow.
