Plot Synopsis

Li Tianshun, a Hui ethnic jade carving artist from Niujie, Beijing,protected a jadepomegranate symbolizing theprosperous national fortune. With the strong support of his neighbors, he fought against the evil forces of several "dynasties." They experienced countless hardships, twists, and disasters, and even faced the destruction of their homes and loss of loved ones. However, Li Tianshun never gave in or retreated. He believed that righteousness wouldprevail over evil and that the day of aprosperous national fortune would come. With the unique resilience and stubbornness of the Niujie Hui community, heprotected the national treasure and upheld the dignity of Niujie.

At the same time, whether it was thePeking Opera actors Yang Shangde and Li Lianzhang, the camel rider Ding Guangyuan, the barbecue seller Ma Deshan, the antique dealer Jin Zhaoji, the Manchu scholar Man Wenkui in the mosque, or the female writer Huang Hexiang, they all faced one national disaster after another, showcasing the virtues of art, the essence of commerce, and the fundamentals of humanity. They demonstrated the rich historical and cultural heritage unique to Niujie for thousands of years.

Ding Yulan, a CommunistParty member who left Niujie, eventually returned and brought hope and anticipation for the future to thepeople of Niujie. She lit a beacon for Niujie before dawn.
