Episode 22 recap: Jia Jin Long provided clues to Wang Xin to find the child.
Ma Yan stole a letter written by Yao Yu Ling, opened it at home, and glanced at it. He found out that it was a letter from Yao Yu Ling asking Wang Xin to reconcile. Yao Yu Ling explained that when she broke up with Wang Xin, it was a moment of confusion, but now she regrets it and sincerely hopes that Wang Xin will come back. Yao Yu Ling saw Wang Xin leaving early in the morning, so she followed him to see his response after reading the letter. Wang Xin told Yao Yu Ling about the letter and said he was deeply moved by it. He also mentioned that he couldn't let go of the past before, but now he has moved on and thanked Yao Yu Ling for wishing him and Ma Yan well. Wang Xin's intention is clear; he wants Yao Yu Ling to know that their relationship is over, and now he only wants to be with Ma Yan.

Seeing that Ma Kui and Wang Xin were being harassed by the thugs in Ha City, Jia Jin Long stepped forward to help and lied, claiming to know Teng Lamei, which scared off the thugs.
After Jia Jin Long helped them, he mentioned the incident on the train years ago when they encountered the robbers selling roasted chicken. They realized that they had encountered an old acquaintance when they were rescued by Wang Xin.
After returning to the hotel, Wang Xin started chatting with Ma Yan, but their conversation was interrupted when Ma Kui hung up the phone. Ma Kui once again expressed his disapproval of Wang Xin being with Ma Yan, not because Wang Xin is not good, but because their families are not compatible.
After criticizing Wang Xin, Ma Kui went to Peng Ming Jie's house to visit him and inquire about the human traffickers. Without prior notice, Ma Kui went to Peng Ming Jie's house and happened to catch Peng Ming Jie accepting bribes. Ma Kui kindly advised Peng Ming Jie not to be manipulated by others.

After criticizing Wang Xin, Ma Kui decided to investigate the situation in Laogou and discovered that the person selling the child there was likely Liu Gui Ying. Jia Jin Long provided valuable information, so Ma Kui and Wang Xin invited him to have a meal to express their gratitude.
Before leaving, Jia Jin Long gave Ma Kui and Wang Xin a bag of local products each. Despite their attempts to refuse, they couldn't reject Jia Jin Long's goodwill and accepted the gifts. Peng Ming Jie visited Ma Kui's house, and Ma Kui wanted to bring out the liquor he had stored for twenty years, but he couldn't find it.
Ma Yan lied, claiming that Ma Kui might have already consumed the liquor and couldn't remember where it was. Peng Ming Jie brought a sheep, and Ma Kui couldn't help but remind him that as a leader, he should know what is right and wrong and avoid bribery.
Ma Kui and Peng Ming Jie had a joyful drinking session, and Ma Kui invited Peng Yong Li to stay at his house. He even asked Peng Yong Li to consider him as his godfather, strengthening the relationship between their families. After Peng Ming Jie left, Ma Kui made arrangements for Peng Yong Li to stay at their home and asked Ma Yan to take care of him. He also occasionally questioned Ma Yan about whether she had given his liquor to Wang Xin.
