Love Me, Love My Voice: A Heartwarming Drama with Chinese Elements

It has been a long time since I watched a show like this. The reason I started watching "Love Me, Love My Voice" was because of its setting: a talented voice actor and the Chinese-style entertainment industry. As a fan of ancient-style music since middle school and someone who got into the Chinese entertainment industry in high school, the show's setting is niche but perfectly tailored to my interests.

With the mindset of evaluating how well they incorporate Chinese elements, I began following this drama. By the time I reached the third episode, I was captivated by the gradually unfolding storyline. The subtle seduction of Mo Qingcheng (played by Tan Jianci) and the reserved yet infatuated Gu Sheng (played by Zhou Ye) created an increasingly familiar and ambiguous atmosphere. In this relationship, Mo Qingcheng deliberately and unintentionally teases, while Gu Sheng responds, realistically portraying a young girl unable to resist the advances of her idol.

In the first episode, after Mo Qingcheng says "I love you," Gu Sheng, under the influence of this temptation, also says "I love you," but quickly follows it up with "your voice," as if reminding herself not to confuse reality. When Mo Qingcheng initially asks, "Do you love me?" even though it's clear they are acting, I still saw the glistening in her eyes, the anxiety, and the feeling of her heart about to burst out of her chest, which moved and delighted me.

The instinct to resist doubt by getting close to each other's voices is a notable aspect of Mo Qingcheng and Gu Sheng's "online romance come true." It restores one's belief in possibilities. Their love, while appearing normal, is also rare. Putting oneself in Gu Sheng's shoes, encountering one's idol is exciting but also nerve-wracking.

It's like seeing your favorite singer perform in your city; that's the general mindset. Those who have mingled in the voice acting industry all have their own Mo Qingcheng in their hearts. But I want to say that Tan Jianci's performance is beyond perfection. His portrayal of Mo Qingcheng, gentle yet determined, kind-hearted, and slow-spoken, always gives a strong sense of security.

If you can accept Qingqing Ci, the slow and mesmerizing Qingqing Ci, the leading figure for Gu Sheng, then you will undoubtedly have a perfect viewing experience in this drama. Starting from the 9th episode, whether it's the demonstration of the two voice styles for the contestants or the passionate songs sung later, they are the best proof of Qingqing Ci's strength. His identity as a "voice acting guru" is instantly established.

On the bus, he gently and calmly explains how to cook pig stomach chicken to Shengsheng Man, which is very heartwarming. At this stage, the two who have developed mutual feelings worry about offending each other, so they talk about recipes to maintain some distance between them. Awkward conversations with a newly acquainted online friend are normal. It is precisely because of these unfamiliar and naive exchanges, the desire to get closer to each other while maintaining a sense of restraint, that the ambiguous stage is sweet without being cloying.

Later, Gu Sheng goes to Mo Qingcheng's house, and every dish Mo Qingcheng prepares is based on the recipes Gu Sheng used to recite, which is another detail that adds depth. It also explains why Mo Qingcheng always recites recipes, because Gu Sheng loves to eat and wants to have a common topic with her. I really adore the atmosphere of this drama. The friendly banter among voice actors, the playful teasing among close friends while eating hot pot, and the lively and festive atmosphere during Chinese New Year have all elevated my happiness levels while watching the show.

Currently, "Love Me, Love My Voice" has aired up to the 12th episode. The overall feeling of watching all the episodes is that the development of Mo Qingcheng and Gu Sheng's relationship is logical, and all the ambiguous atmosphere feels natural without forced manipulation. Their thoughts and emotions are relatable and grounded, just as one would experience in a real relationship.

The biggest impression this drama has left on me is that it is heartwarming, creating a sense of being surrounded by love. It's perfect for snuggling up in bed and watching, warming the heart. It's like a barrier in winter, shielding me from the cold and blowing warm air, making me feel completely at ease. I am eagerly looking forward to the upcoming episodes. Even the waiting period is sweet because I know it's waiting for me to encounter it.
